It's a quiet-ish library when it's not crowded that also has a range of other useful services, like venue bookings, a small play area for kids and nappy change rooms. And a fair number of desktop computers and free WiFi / device charging stations. Some of the seats here are really uncomfortable and they could use a couple of good office chairs here and there.nnHowever because there is a play area, parents who bring their kids in may neglect to control their kids and they can be seen running around playing tag when they are bored. Probably best to bring some noise isolating headphones just in case there are lots of kids around.
Went there for the Burwood art price. Was truly inspired by the art work. Great initiative by Burwood council. There were so many works that can inspire people from any walks for life. Also the announcement of a 50 million dollar build by the council is exciting
nnI recently heard about the piano at Burwood Library and decided to drop in to check it out—and I’m really glad I did.nnThey actually have a dedicated music studio equipped with keyboards and other instruments. While you do need to book in advance and it’s currently fully booked for the next couple of months, the staff were incredibly kind and took the time to show us around. The studio itself is impressive—modern, well-equipped, and a fantastic space for anyone interested in music, especially beginners and young musicians.nnWhat also stood out is their community activities. Every Saturday from 12:30–3:00pm, they run free drawing sessions. I spoke with Dan, who mentioned that each week has a different theme, which makes it fun and engaging for kids and teens. It’s a great opportunity for them to be creative, meet others, and learn in a relaxed environment.nnOverall, I’d highly recommend this library for families. Whether your kids are into music or art, it’s a welcoming and inspiring space that’s definitely worth visiting.
We are locals and frequently visited Burwood Library as a family and wanted to share how impressed we are with the excellent service from Thuong. Thuong was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to help me during my visit. Her support made the whole experience smooth and genuinely positive.nnWe truly appreciated her guidance and would love to see more of Thuong in the complement staff—she is a real asset to the library. Small. I was fortunate to get a small seat/couch before students came in after school. Hard to find a good place to study and chat as it seems all rooms need to be booked with fee.
