Lovely staff. Hubby was busy this morning so I had to come hang get a large item, by myself with a baby and toddler. Staff were so helpful and not oy got it off the shelf for me, but put it in my car too
Unfortunately the lack of interest from the young person on the cash register, with long blonde hair, was very disappointing, not one hospitality comment, didn't ask how I was paying and never said thank you or have a good day - completely unresponsive. Suggest a lesson in customer service is necessaryn!
Normally I love this Bunnings and have had nothing but positive experiences. However, tonight my partner was treated pretty poorly.nnWe recently purchased 30+ native plants and had to return 3 plants under the Bunnings perfect plant promise. My partner requested store credit to then replace the plants.nnWe purchase a lot of plants and I’ve never had an issue exchanging plants before. However, in this instance the young man behind the counter made a huge ordeal about returning the dead plants. They spent 20 minutes interrogating my partner about why he didn’t water them properly, and that we must’ve done something wrong with these if the other plants had survived. They ignored the fact that a certain % of plants simply do not survive. Regardless, I’ve never had this type of interrogation before.nnThe person behind the counter then took my partners drivers licence details and took our receipt with all the other plants and purchases on it and didn’t return it. It was quite embarrassing for my partner and made him feel like a criminal for returning 3 plants.nnDefinitely would recommend management speak to their staff and clarify the idea of the perfect plant promise.
Yesterday on a very busy Sunday, I had to return two items with a receipt to my local Subi Bunnings, which I’ve used for over 18 years. The usually smooth process was anything but, after being informed I had to have the exact same card the goods were purchased with.nnThe reason given was we might be having marital troubles and I could be trying to return my ‘ex wife / partners’ goods to claim their money, and apparently it’s now the law!nnYou couldn’t make this up!nnI listened and said it was the same, as it’s our exact same joint account. She then made the $10 transaction and checked the card number - and exclaimed it was different. Yes, but the same account I said.nnClarity is required around this ‘new’ law on returns because this doesn’t add up…..you can apparently still return goods without a receipt verified by drivers licence…..nnMore importantly, please put the customer at the forefront of your service not make up stories as to why transactions can’t occur!
