For Bunnings to have over 4 stars makes no sense. They must be paying for this. Alexandria and most of they're stores just don't have enough staff. Especially with record profits every year, which is this selfish organization's only goal. Any type of service is gone entirely. Rock up, buy what you need and it's just a chore.nThe business model is to pretend to be cheap with the weekly discounted items which are advertised everywhere and in the catalog, while all the necessary things people need are way too expensive and going up regularly. Take for example Selleys Spak Filla, which 2 years ago was $ 11.95, then last year $15.95 and now this year is already $18.95. For a little tub of plaster! Acetone, necessary for many applications sells in other countries for 50c a litre. At Bunnings, $14.95. How on earth is this cost justified. Ripping off your own country, your own people and Aussie families with this hardware monopoly having bought out and crushed the competitors.nThe only benefit shopping here used to have was being a one stop shop, but now many necessary items are missing or sold out. Because stock has to be completely empty before the system re-orders it. So you can get part of your job done but not all of it then have to call and drive around Sydney looking for the rest of the necessary parts. If you can't find a part yourself due to an empty item on the shelf, try finding a staff member. Let alone someone willing to help once you do find them. Let alone care. And they'll treat you like it's your fault you can't find an item which has clearly ran out. And at several branches. Or more so to our amazement, be like Raj who is ready to tell customers off at the drop of a hat.nWith record profits just announced in the media again, this is just not acceptable.
I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care and compassion shown by the amazing team at Bunnings Alexandria during a recent visit. My 86yo mother-in-law felt unwell while shopping there, and the way the staff handled the situation was nothing short of exemplary.nnA special mention must go to Donald, who went above and beyond to ensure my mother-in-law was comfortable. His kindness, patience, and compassion were genuine, it is obvious that it came straight from his heart. Donald stayed with us, provided care, and did everything he could to make her feel at ease. What touched me even more was his thoughtful follow up, asking that I keep Bunnings updated on her situation.nnMoments like these remind me that Bunnings Alexandria is much more than just a shopping destination for me, it's a place that feels like a community, filled with incredible people who genuinely care.nnThank you so much to Donald and the whole team for your support. It's an act of kindness that we will never forget.
1 star for Liam, 5 stars for MikeynnHad a strange experience today at Bunnings. I came in to get some wood cut for my first DIY project a bit out of my comfort zone already.nnThe disappointing part: I was told to come back in 15 minutes after waiting for about 15 min already at the wood cutting corner and ask for Liam to help with the wood cutting. When I did, another team member called Liam over by name while he was on the forklift but when I approached and explained, he laughed and said “well Liam’s not here,” and the other guy went along with it too. It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially after I’d already waited about 30 minutes. I’m not an emotional person but it really made me feel like crap.nnThe saving grace: Mikey was an absolute gem. He noticed I was waiting, took the time to explain what was happening, even walked me to the café area to wait comfortably and later came back to get me when someone was ready to help. He was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. The other wood cutting staff I think “Softy” was his name? were also great, friendly and professional.nnIt took a while, but I left with exactly what I needed thanks to Mikey and the others. Huge credit to them for their kindness and customer service
This is a really great Bunnings! It is a really great size for what is relatively still an inner city store. Ample parking on ground and basement level. It's split over two floors and has everything you could ever want from a Bunnings, has a garden centre, tool shop, trade section and cafe, as well as all the usual bits and bobs you would expect. The best part is obviously the dog spotting - there are always so many different dogs in this store, and as you can tell our dogs love coming along for the ride!
Spoke to two staff about finding plants and both were rude. Understand it is a busy time of year, but left with nothing as they were very unhelpful. Edit: went to flowerpower in mascot and found exactly what we were looking for, got a great discount, and very helpful staff. Wont be back to bunnings for plants.
