Hostel itself was pretty nice - the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The kitchen & laundry facilities were good as well and the location is quite central. However, as a solo traveller I wouldn’t say it’s the most social place. There were lots of long-term stayers in my room, and while there were lockers available for smaller bags, there wasn’t really anywhere to store larger bags. As a result, a lot of people left suitcases out on the floor, which made the room feel cluttered, with clothes scattered everywhere.
These guys are amazing. Managed to get a room one week out for a concert for a fantastic price. Receptionist gave us a fantastic dinner recommendation that we went to and loved. The rooms were awesome for the price and the beds were comfy. I left my necklace in the room and didn’t realise until I got back home and they mailed it quick smart. They were happy to mail it and dispatched it a day later. Received it on Thursday after checking out on Sunday. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience overall! Special thanks to Tommy for fantastic service over the phone too
Very comfortable hostel minutes walk from the heart of Fortitude Valley, but far enough away that you have a quiet place to sleep. The facilities are brand new and very clean, amazing industrial kitchen and a lovely pool deck with use of the bar area as well. I can fault for lack of a social buzz in the common area, but this comes with the more clean and polished hostels I find. The trivia night was very high production and excellently planned. Overall a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend if it comes up at a good price.nnThose saying the kitchen is filthy or dirty really haven’t spent any time in hostels, its pretty funny how far from the truth this is when you compare it to anywhere else.
I recommend this hostel that provide clean and modern rooms. The kitchen is big and has all the devices needed, the cutlery and the plates are dirty though. There is a bar in the hostel which is quite expensive. There is a refreshing pool as well. I think the best thing about this hostel is definitely the rooms, you have a private toilet and shower in the room, a light in the bed and a lot of privacy for a dorm.
Ok so I stayed in this hostel for a few months and here’s an honest break down. The location of this place is amazing, right in the centre, close to the nightlife and shops Aswell as the metro which is very convenient. Here’s the downsides, the kitchen is disgusting, people don’t seem to know how to clean pans and plates and the cleaners do nothing about it also the opening times of the kitchen are inconvenient if you work nights. The staff for the most part are pretty friendly and pretty chatty. There is not really any social life in this hostel, if you’re travelling and wanting to meet people, this is absolutely NOT the place. Every room I was in had cockroaches in the toilet and shower. The WiFi literally never works and it seemed to be a dead zone for my mobile data, I’d get like 2 bars of signal maximum. The biggest killer about this hostel is how much they jack up the rent, at the end of my stay I was paying around $420 a week and they were trying to increase it to $500! to stay in an 8 person dorm which is absolute insanity!!! If you work full time on a casual contract it’s around half of your weekly paycheck! If you’re a traveller coming to Brisbane looking for a job like I did, do NOT stay here, your money will go insanely fast at this place, there are much cheaper alternatives that offer the same services. All in all, I can’t say I’d recommend this place to anyone, it has a special place in my heart cause I stayed here for months with my friends as we were trying to save every penny we could to move out, however the price can NOT be justified and it’s not a social place at all, so do what you will with this infomation…
