While the location and idea behind the brewery has great potential, our service and food experience was disappointing. To begin, there was a lot of confusion about our reservation. Then the shared plate we ordered had undercooked chicken, the pizza was small & rosemary and sea salt steak cut chips apparently mean pre-cut style with a bonkas amount of table salt and no rosemary. No one checked in with us throughout the meal. Overpriced for quality.
Good place to end your visit in this very pretty historic township, located on the Great Alpine Road. The microbrewery offers a broad selection of preservative-free ales, pilsner & stouts. Their 'Bites' menu can accommodate almost any appetite - gluten-free & vegan dishes available. We chose the oven roasted Barramundi & their signature beef burger - along with its recommended stout. Outdoor & indoor seating is available. The staff were quite knowledgeable about different types of brews on offer. The store had a selection of take home six pack, as well as some locally sourced produce eg. honey.
Awesome brewery with a great selection of beers and food to choose from plus friendly service. Really enjoyed a paddle of beers with lunch and it was good to see you can purchase extra samples if you just fancy a little taste of another beer, especially enjoyed their Brown Ale and the Stout. To eat, we had the Bullant Beef Burger which was very tasty and perfect beer food. With plenty of outdoor seating, I highly recommend calling in if in the area, probably best to book at weekends but we noticed they still tried to fit people in if they hadn't.
We had lunch at Bullant Brewery whilst in the local area and were left disappointed. The service was poor and not very friendly eg we were seated and left; menus were only offered once we got up to grab them; water for the table was not brought for over 30 minutes; my husbands pot of beer was forgotten and only poured after I went to the bar to ask - and there was confusion over ordering as the kitchen orders were “on hold” during our period there they were pausing orders on and off during the time we stayed, prior to the kitchen closing at 2pm. The menu items were expensive and of generally poor to average quality. I had the vegetarian dumplings $18 for six, which were over cooked falling apart and served with a few salad greens. My husbands burger, whilst tasty, was small for $28 and served with over salted chips. My sons pizza was the right price point $10 for the kids serve and was average. The beer, which was the draw card for us as my husband is very into craft beers was also a disappointment. Many of the beers were not available from the menu and he was given a wrong beer on his tasting paddle. The venue has so much potential but was let down by these key issues. Given the excellence of other breweries locally there’s a lot of room for improvement
Great place great food had the beef burger it was so filling better than a fish and chip shop. My husband had the lamb souvalki which came out on 3 little tortillas he said that's the best way to have a souvalki beers were nice and good prices for food and drink
Food was ok... But I'm really upset about the 15% surcharge. I have never had a restaurant charge that much. And NOWHERE did they say there would be a surcharge for today. Not on the menus, the cash register or the specials board. A bill over $90 for 2 meals and a few drinks. What a joke?! Never again.
A foodies delight in the small township of Bruthen, only a short drive from Bairnsdale. Great for a gourmet light lunch with a sample of locally brewed beers. Menu, and beers, are seasonal so repeat visit will offer something new. The inside seating area is limited, so booking in busier times is recommended to avoid disappointment. There is parking behind the facility, but it is limited, spaces are tight and the entrance is sneakily hard to find if you've not been there before. There is also plenty of street parking nearby.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch with friendly, very helpful service. Coffee is good, amenities spotless. We were also able to buy local and not-so-local beers and ciders guided by helpful advice. Thanks staff at Bullants :
really nice lil brewery @bullantbrewery in Victoria, the guys were heaps friendly and the beers were unique and delish! we got a beer paddle so we could try out a couple flavours, don't quite remember what they were hahaha but it was so nice to be able to choose our own! check out my food insta @erinxeats for more!
Big selection of beers, most of them very nice. Food was good too. Inside could do with a bit of a redesign, it has more of a cheap cafe feel than a brewery.
