Beautiful food & people. Had the Southern Fried Chicken Burger and the Mrs had the Vegetarian Sandwich. The waiter got the kitchen to put together the sandwich which wasn't in the menu. She mentioned that it's the best sandwich she ever had :. I loved the burger, soft bun and the chicken fried just right. Coffee and the white chocolate & raspberry cake was good too.
Went here for a quick takeaway for morning tea 11am and was disgusted with the experience Bendigo site Disinterested, rude service staff, food overpriced and waited for 10 minutes for an over heated, soggy sausage roll which turned out had been forgotten. This was the second time I'd called in ... benefit of the doubt ... but if I want a hot snack in future I'll go to the servo.
Horrible food! Poor service! Overpriced! I had the creamy mushroom pasta. It was merely cream reduced with wine and mushrooms. Flavourless, bland and freezing cold! My husband had a beef burger and a bowl of chips. The chips arrived 10 minutes after our food, however we watched a couple being served a bowl of chips within 5 minutes of being seated and I’m certain they forgot our order and had given our bowl of chips to the other patrons. We had our toddler with us who is very well behaved in cafe/restaurants. They accommodated us with a high chair but my child wasn’t offered cutlery, napkins or crockery. I had to use the plate and spoon from my latte for her to eat her lunch! We paid $75 which is an exorbitant cost for lunch! I would not recommend this venue for meals. The decor and design was modern and hip but the service and food quality did not match the facade! Our day out was left with disappointment.
Country Café’ busy at the time we attended. Ordered a burger and 2 chicken rolls, take away. The burger was runny, fell apart and messy, only half of it eaten due to the taste. The 2 chicken rolls were small in size – the equivalent of 2 dinner rolls. One of the chicken rolls was fine but the other also had a “funny” taste, yes, I know “funny taste” is not a great description but, the offending ingredient could not be identified. In this instance “the art did not translate into taste”. $55 later this did include 3 bottles of water our group agreed that the money was not worth it. Being a country town there’s no problem parking. Would give this café one star but for the attentive waiting staff whom deserve praise.
Was searching/walking trying to find an eatery in Castlemaine on a late Sunday afternoon this Long Queens birthday weekend, after a couple of cafes closing at 3pm we wandered further to Bruce’s Kitchen cafe, we were bloody starving and were greeted by fantastic staff & Bloody hot coffee On a cold winters day, we kept our order simple to a Farmhand sandwich x 4 With the best rolls with stunning fillings and a mayo to die for! And cheers to great attentive staff will DEFINATELY Be back on our next visit! Well done to all as ALL YOUR STAFF MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME AS THE REST OF THE PATRONS IN THIS VERY BUSY CAFE, THANKYOU
The Callister family and friends celebrated a significant birthday on the afternoon of 18th September 2022 at Bruce’s Kitchen Castlemaine. The venue produced a special party feel, the food was excellent, drinks suited us all. The STAFF made the day extra special. A big THANK YOU to Bruce and his team.
The staff at Bruce’s cafe are lovely, we chatted to three seperate people who all took the time to chat to us. Our food took a while because they were busy but it was handled perfectly! I’ll be back next time I’m up in castlemaine
GREAT CAFE, GREAT STAFF, GREAT VIBES I have made this place my regular and I encourage you to do so as well. Friendly staff who are super helpful and care about your experience. The food is delicious and way more filling than the standard cafe - 100% would recommend to a friend. Bang for your buck & hospitality at its finest. Good vegetarian/vegan options as well.
Food always looks amazing whether it’s served dine in or take away! Coffee is amazing and everyone takes so much pride in what they do. The fact that it’s always extremely busy speaks for itself. People will always come back for good service alongside high quality food and coffee.
