We decided to check out the hype,.and this is what I know after having tried various cupcakes and cookies from Brooki .nn5/5 - Carrot cupcake $7nnI enjoyed the carrot cake cupcake , this had all the makings of a traditional carrot cake, and it was nice and moist, as well as a little dense . The icing and the crumbed walnut on top was absolutely spot on .nn2/5 - salted Caramel $7nnThe vanilla sponge honestly was borderline too dry , but right in that sweet spot between the perfect sponge and one you would buy in a packet. The sponge just tasted manufactured much like one from Coles would .nnI enjoyed the topping , and had the perfect amount of caramel swirl, but for $7 you would expect to find a little more than a basic vanilla sponge as a base.nnNow for the cookies nnAfter sampling the NYC , double choc, and the white choc & Macadamia , I have mixed opinions about the texture and the flavour.nnI am partial to a softer cookie, but these are undercooked, and essentially like eating straight cookie dough beyond the soft crusty edges .nnThe NYC was a good cookie , but definitely not an $8 cookie on a good day .nnThe double Choc cookie had the exact same taste and texture of that of a Coles doublenChoc cookie , only you get 6 for $3.85 nnThe white Choc Macadamia had a nicely balanced flavour , but 90% of it was just cookie dough .nnSo in summary , putting all the social media hype aside, I have absolutely had better at a fraction of the cost . I can only assume at this point , that alot of the fanfare is purely on the back of social media influencers, and consumers flocking to these outlets just to get their hands on a Brooki bag to be a part of this movement.
We love every chunk cookies in this ‘best seller’ box.nnI especially love NYC Cookie Dark Choc WalnutnCookie Butter injected with Biscoff!nClassic Choc Chip.nnBut speaking of that, It is very hard to pick my favorite three flavors. They are just too good!
These are hands down the best cookies ever! The red velvet is an absolute 10/10—so gooey, rich, and flavorful. I also love that they switch up the flavors every week, so there’s always something new to try. If you’re a cookie lover, this place is a must! Their macaroons are also a must! I’ve been here so many times and it never disappoints.
I was lucky to stay around Fortitude Valley to visit Brooki first thing in the morning. At 8:40, no long queue. I bought a box of cookies and salted caramel and red velvet cupcakes. The cupcakes were heaven… should’ve bought a box. The cake was fluffy and super moist, and the frosting was sweet enough, not sickly sweet. I have tried NYC and biscoff cookies on the day, and they were very nice, I can see she does not spare any ingredients, including butter! But I don’t see more special about the cookies to pay more than other home baked cookies. Certainly nice, full of buttery heaven, and fresh if you eat it on the day of purchase. So keep up the good work!nnThen on the way back home, I found Brooki at the Domestic airport, and bought one more box of cookies. unfortunately I couldn’t choose which flavour cookies I would put in the box in this shop, but the cookies were sealed in individual packets, which is better. Looks like there is no cake or soft serve here, but enough cookies and cupcakes.nI still think their products are excellent, it’s more successful with good marketing skills. Keep up the good work!
After Brooki announced they would be shipping internationally to the US, I immediately ordered an assortment of their cookies and a mug, but then realized after ordering that my address appeared differently on the confirmation page. I reached out via email to confirm my shipping address, and I was genuinely shocked at the speed with which someone from the company got back to me given time zone differences. They were extremely pleasant, and were able to update my shipping. My cookies arrived on time, and were delicious especially after warming them up a bit, I’d recommend 10/10. The mug is super cute, and it’s dishwasher safe, which is always a plus for me. I’m attaching a picture of said mug, but the photo unfortunately will not include the cookies because I did eat them all :
