I have been devoted to another Indian restaurant for the last 10 years, while I try others regularly I never had a restaurant that was close to as good as my regular. This restaurant is not local to me. It was even better than my regular. The food is incredible. The service was fantastic. Now my favourite. The garlic naan was beautifully crisp o the bottom with a nice soft top. Butter chicken was rich in flavour and just the best ever. Mango chicken was also top notch. The atmosphere of the restaurant just adds further to the incredible dining experience. Will definitely be back even though it’s a 45 min drive. Thank you to the incredible staff last night 21/04/23 you are all wonderful. Fantastic. Amazing. Delicious.
Dated 29/01/2022 We have ordered a chilli chicken and we asked Lady at counter for any veg rice dish, she suggested we can make a vegetable biriyani on request and we have ordered it. After a longgg wait for 1 hr just for take away, so called Vegetable biryani "Chef special". Ended the meal with surprises hidden. Half of the take away container full of big sizes of boiled potatoes for a second I felt did we ordered vegetable biriyani or just potato biryani. Here the hidden surprise found staple pin ‍.$22 just for this Biryani is too pricey and not quality food Chilli chicken smells like a stinky fish flavour. And final taste is just ok. Big No Adelaide tour ended with bad food experience.
Indian cricketers memorabilia galore and in your face. Talk about overdoing a theme..oh wait is there a theme at all? The name's British Raj, isn't it? Maybe my average sized brain cannot work it out.. India's colonial past, maybe? Well everything can be forgotten and forgiven if the food's great but it wasn't unfortunately. Butter chicken to an Indian restaurant is what Fried-rice is to a Chinese. Safe and staple. Ordered that and Tandoori chicken just to test the waters but both dishes turned out to be disappointing. Their tandoori chicken has a dishraggy smell for some reason and their Butter chicken, too bland for my liking. I come from Dubai so I am a bit spoilt for choices when it comes to cuisines and food in general...but I am not unreasonable. Long story short - British Raj ain't my cuppa tea or Tandoori chicken for that matter.
I recently dined at British Raj, and I must say it was a delightful experience! From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambience caught my attention. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive, and the service was impeccable. Now, coming to the food - I must say, I was blown away by the flavours! Each dish was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spices and seasoning. The variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options was impressive, and everything we ordered was delicious. I would highly recommend trying the butter chicken it was simply out of this world! The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at British Raj, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Adelaide. Kudos to the team for creating such a fantastic dining experience - I will definitely be back!"
Visited Adelaide for 6 days and returned twice for dinner. My family own an Indian Restaurant and since travelling we have missed the food. This place did not disappoint. The service was amazing very patient staff helping with 2 impatient young kids!! and the food and naan were delicious we just had to come back! The memorabilia is also interesting to admire! Thanks so much! Kid-friendliness: Very patient staff
This is where we celebrate all my dad’s special occasions - it’s his favourite Indian in Adelaide and he’s tried most of them! We have never had a bad meal, the curries are always perfect and the meat is tender.
Food was not worth the prices at all. All the curries tasted same. Naan were too thick. No doubt the service was good and staff was friendly. Only thing i liked was Coke that i ordered. Vegetarian options: Not spicy, same tasting curries.
We ordered takeaway through their online portal. Food was okay. Maybe a bit oily. The problem was that even though they gave a pick-up time 30 minutes after ordering, the food wasn't ready until a other 45 minutes after that. The counter was crowded with people waiting for takeaway, menulog and Uber drivers. All waiting patiently. Staff just said a few more minutes every time we asked. Should have just left.
This is the best restaurant i have ever been to!!!!! The food is so yummy i had chicken biryani the little boy who works there is so sweet you should tip him $5! would like to visit this wonderful restaurant again! #cool #restraurant #
100% the best indian food I've ever had. It'll be impossible for me to go somewhere else for indian food from now. Absolutely magnificent food, brilliant service. Very welcoming, very clean environment. And the smell in the restaurant of all the different foods is just incredible 1 million % going back
