Absolutely outstanding meals and service amid a modern take on Victorian era decor. The meals had well balanced and nuanced flavours and enjoyable textures. The use of great local produce really enhanced the freshness and flavour. You could tell a lot of thought and love had gone into the menu creation. It really felt like food, elevated to another level. The service was prompt and professional, welcoming and friendly. The interior design was impeccable, as was the cleanliness. Save room for the delicious desserts!
Jamie was very welcoming and talkative and knowledgeable regarding wines. Food was great we went with the degustation menu. The mushroom dish was unique. Time went by but didn’t feel it was that long. The building itself felt like an old heritage building but after you enter the atmosphere was great.
Our server, Jaimee an expectional waiter, attentive to all customers dining there on Friday night. Meals a 10/10 delicious, filling and beautiful! Compliments to the chefs. High end food & wine , it was on my bucket list to dine here and now I can't wait to go back!
Really enjoyable meal, with delicate flavours and combinations. Entree with sides and dessert perfectly portioned. Menu selection was excellent, making it hard to choose! Exceptional wait staff were a compliment to the meal, unobtrusive and attentive. Thanks for a lovely evening.
A nice 3 course meal. Some of the dishes were a little over thought in our opinion but very nice overall. Beef cheek and the brulee recommended. Jamie's service was professional, friendly, and relaxing. Dietary restrictions: Very attentive to the fact that my wife has a nut problem.
The best food we had in Launceston. The food was immaculate and highly evocative, bringing back childhood memories. We had the octopus, the duck and the fish. All of them were delicious and the duck in particular was our favourite. We could tell that immense care and love was put into the preparation of our food. The bistro was intimate and the service from Jamie was lovely. The lemon/lavender mocktail was also very tasty. This place is a must go when you are in Launceston and we will definitely be back! A
Staff were very friendly and helpful! I ordered my main dish of duck breast which was fabulous, with the very crisp duck skin and crisp potato! Love it! They went well with the oyster mushroom and their sauces. The portion size was very good for me. However, the sweet potato gnocchi which my hubby ordered was so much smaller than we expected, there were exactly 9 pieces of gnocchi in the plate and the rest were carrot and potato, which charged 42$ same as the duck breast I ordered. The gnocchi is certainly overly priced when it compared to the duck breast. We had to get some take away sushi to fill my hubby stomach.
Some great food was had here. While not my number 1 go in town, there were definately some tastey and unique items I would want to share.
Food and service is excellent. They have a wonderful menu and extensive wine list. This is one of those hidden secrets of Launceston. If you are in town and want fine dining then this is a must.
Had a great meal at the bistro! The duck was delicious and perfectly matched by the sauce and fennel. Everything was tasty, from the bread to the sides to the desert. We also had a beautiful tasmanian shiraz by the glass. We'll worth the price which for us tourists from the UK we would say was very reasonable!.Food: 5/5
