Busy café popular with students located in downtown Fremantle. Everything in the front counter looked good to eat. We ordered freshly made salad sandwiches with the works. Not a lot of seating, but some on the footpath outside. Good lunchtime stop.
Lovely unpretentious local cafe in a street of quite expensive and trendy eateries. The cafe is full of ‘stuff’ - plants, clothes, bags and other treasures. The seating is mostly outdoors with a few bench seats inside and I suspect that most of the diners are grabbing takeaway. Staff were really friendly and it was much like eating at a friends place! The food was good - heaps of home made stuff like wraps, burger and sausage rolls. Coffee was OK and it was pleasant sitting there on a sunny Freo day watching the world go by. Love this place!
Love this place. It has good selection of yummy bites. Good for 'grab & go'. This place is cleverly decorated with small potted plants both hanging and placed every where inside/outside the cafe and all are for sale. Very humble simple cafe. Seats are available both inside and outside. Price wise, for this location, is very much standard.
Been coming here for years for a breakfast if I have a gig or filming in Freo. The staff change but the welcome doesn't. So friendly and welcoming its like visiting your Nona's . the breakfast is for the brave, 4 pieces of bacon, two eggs, enormous sausage sourdough toast....and some salad as a gesture to your arteries. My poached eggs were cooked to perfection, as was the bacon and toast, the sausage was appetising and tasty but could have been served a bit hotter rather than just room temperature. Otherwise a big mug of green tea and a large glass of orange juice with change from 25 bucks. Worth seeking out for a decent feed without the creeping fashionistas invading freo. Love it. Looking forward to my next visit!
The place deserves a high rating because of the food. Still, they ripped us off like true con artist overcharching our credit card with 4,50 on 20 dollars. This is how they work: they are very polite and ask you kindly what you want. They produce good and tasty food. You then pay by card and they simply add one fruitsalad on the charge. They take your card behind the counter and swipe it. You don't get a receipt. So, you only find out later. We needed the receipt for cash purposes and that's how we found out. 'A mistake', they told me. But the fruit salad was 3,50. So we were still a dollar short. They were all looking at us like, 'we never do this'. I went online and found a few more reviews saying exactly the same. This place steals your card money. So, always ask for a receipt and check. And to the owners: stop ripping off people, it's stealing and that's a criminal offence. I reported it to the local police.
Staff are friendly but their salad rolls are overpriced compaired to other local cafes. They also charge an eftpos fee even if u spend over $10. Bought a chicken salad roll, cost $10.50 plus 50c surcharge for using my card
Nice little cafe, serves great pie's and other hot Goodies aswell as super sized muffins and various other cakes, rolls, wraps, Ect. They also serve hot food , great coffee and a good variety of cold drinks. If you happen to be a gardener they even sell plants. Lovley place Recommended. See photos.
It takes a lot for me to give a one star review to a business, but the more I think about my experience at Piccolo's, the angrier I become. After specifically asking one of the women serving if there was any pesto or nuts in what I was ordering she definitively told me no, shoved the container in a bag and that was that. After taking a couple of bites, it was very evident to me that there were in fact nuts somewhere in the food. I returned to the counter and this time spoke to another woman, who basically told me that it's not her fault because she only makes the sauce of the pasta, but the pasta itself is ordered in. When I asked if she checks the packet before blindly telling customers that there are no nuts, she said 'I threw it away'. Now, I am fully aware that my anaphylaxis is my responsibility... but when I specifically ask if your food has a certain ingredient I EXPECT that you either know, or say 'I can't be sure' so that I can make an educated decision. I am now sitting waiting to be seen by a doctor, missing out on valuable work time, all because nobody could be bothered to have product knowledge. I did receive a refund, but honestly that means so little in the grand scheme of how dangerous this could have been for me. I will absolutely never return, and will be spreading the word about the beyond careless work ethic here.
Very affordable prices, comparing to the other cafes in the area. 2 breakfast sets for about $24. Food was good. Cute potted plants for sale if you're interested.
Been a couple of times while passing through Fremantle to Notre Dame! Staff are always very friendly and the food there is great! Great little stop for a snack, drink or lunch!
