So happy to have stumbled upon this Filipino bakery and found my favorite pan de coco in Auckland. The real winner was the ube and cheese pan de sal - soft, chewy, rich but not too sweet. Can't wait to come back and try more!Food: 5/5
A really nice bakery to stop by for tasty Filipino bread. I quite like the ube and coco breads. Nice soft bread filled with tasty sweet filling. They also have other tasty ones like the ensaymada and ube cake. A nice place to stop for a snack. Edit: The egg tart was quite large and nice. The butter cake was almost like a shortbread. Ube roll has a nice halaya.
Really good bakery. Walked by the bakery and thought the displays outside were quite appealing. They do cakes, pies, breads, pastries etc. Went in to get a pie for lunch and saw that they also had a selection of good Filipino pastries. I purchased a steak and vege pie. Very tasty and crust stayed in tact. Also got pandesal nice and soft, empanada a little dry and thick for my liking but was ok and ensaymada which was nice and light. Priced pretty well and staff were okay also.
I ordered Uber cake for my first wedding anniversary, completely disappointed with cake as it was stale, dry and cream wasn’t fresh at all.
The breads all have Filipino names, I asked the lady behind the counter whether one of them was sweet or savoury, and if there's any fillings. She looked at me like it was my fault for not knowing her cultural food, and said there is no English name, when I asked about the taste again, she went back to stating the obvious while refusing to give any information about what it tasted like. After 4 attempts I left. Her English was good enough, just had a bad attitude. The most frustrating experience I ever had at a bakery. Frankly it's rude to offer no information about your product other than the ethnic name.
Really terrible customer service here. Was getting angry that I was asking about certain filled breads. Then went out the back and made us wait to be served, for quite some time. If she was busy could just say “just a minute” then when I asked for a bag to put our items in she threw pile at me and told me to help myself. And not in a nice way. Then proceeded to be kind to the next 2 customers Safe to say I won’t go back.
I've eaten a LOT of pies, but sadly this bakery's pies are in the bottom 3rd / below average. The steak and mushroom and steak and cheese pie were too salty and the filling was dark like too much dark soya sauce was added. Pastry was OK. Just was not particularly appetising. I went to the bakery 20 meters up the road and had a small pie to wash it down!
I went into the store for a pie but forgot my wallet. The kind woman let me have one anyways and gave me the option to come back another day to pay for it. It made my whole day and reminded me how hospitable and caring filipino people are! The mince and cheese pie was so yummy and filling but her kind act made it even more delicious! Thank you!
Order an Ube cake for birthday, fresh cream for Monday. On pick up the person grabbed one from the case. It was made Friday or before?? according to the person on duty. With messy excessive butter cream. And absolutely NOT fresh. The Ube was firm like it was stale. I told the person, she said nothing she can do the baker is sick.
stale ube cake, dry and was obviously an old baked cake slice sold for full price. wouldn’t trust their cake slices as i don’t think they check quality
