Horrible dirty train station. Some very dodgy people around here and the bus interchange on the roof top is just as bad and on top,of that the general population inside this place are arrogant and refuse to move out of your way and look at you like you don't belong here.....mmmm. Last time I checked I was born in this state and speak fluent English. Do you ? What embarrassment to my young daughter having to explain why so many people at this place are just very average individuals

I can't believe i got find by those ticket inspectors again. I'm not going here anymore, i'm gone. My parents feel very disappointed on me for getting find. No concession, get find. That's all what they do, pointlessly find people, don't care about our own reasons. Those ticket inspectors do not deserve to live and work as them. They are bunch of scums with no souls. Expensive bill, what a childish prank. Its like robbing all my money from me. This makes my life even worse now. Well thanks a lot ticket inspector scums, for getting myself in trouble... again.....

This station is okay.
The (current) station was built between 1983-85 (when the Station St. railway crossing was abolished), and other than the PTV signs, it still looks like it's from 1985.
The decor is old. The entrance to the station is exactly the same as it was during the 1990's. The only difference is that the signage is PTV, and also that Paper Tickets and 'Scratchies' aren't accepted anymore...
In fact, if you put back the old 'MTA'-style signs on (white text on a green background), retile the rest of the platform (the seating area still has tiles) and some old Harris/Hitachi (or even early Comeng) trains (with the 1980's MTA logo) and remove the gates, it could almost be 1985 again!
There are escalators, stairs and a lift to access 2/3 but only a ramp for 4.
There are four platforms.
Platform 1 - Has been inaccessible since July 1984. It was only used between 1983-84, when the crossing was being abolished. The McDonalds is now where the access point for the ramp that leads down is, so it's no longer accessible. There is no track/infrastructure and only minimal lighting on this platform.
Platform 2/3: This is the main (Island) Platform. It's been concreted (it was originally tiled). The displays are the original ones from the 1980s. The platform isn't particularly clean, but it does have good shelter (as with all platforms at this station) and an okay amount of seating (there could be a little more). There is a platform food store, which has the same selection as any other store of this type.
Platform 4: Only used during peak times. Facility-wise, it's the same as Platform 2/3 (excluding the lack of the platform food store).
The 'Next Train' TV screens (at the platform and at the ticket gates) are the same ones from 1985, and are the last remaining of its type, as far as I know.
Overall, it is usable but is slightly aged and may need a renovation in the future.

A convenient transport connection, but could do with a bit of a renovation.

This is a big transiting station for trains and buses. Very convenient if you don't have to park your car, use a toilet or need somewhere to sit while waiting.
Everything is old and desperately needs an update.
