I've had a great time dancing at Bottoms Up for a few years now and tried out a range of classes. Teaching is of a consistently high standard, with a focus on safety, building strength and correct technique. I've made many friends at the studio and found the environment supportive and body positive.
The street is safe (no strange people 'lurking' as another reviewer mentioned) and right next to the bustle of Lygon St and a big artists studio.
A great studio to check out for beginners and seasoned dancers alike!

Bottoms Up has changed my life. The first time I walked through those doors I was an insecure, shy little mouse who could barely look at herself in the mirror. A mere two years later I am confident in my own skin, my mental and physical health has drastically improved, I am smashing my performance goals and have made lifelong friends. The teachers are incredible and the studio feels like home. I couldn't vouch for this place highly enough!

Do the thing. You won't regret it! 💜

The best dance school I have attended in my life. I have been going there for the last 7 years and it has been one of the best things I have done in my life. It is the most supportive and safe environment to explore different types of dance, welcoming to women and men from all walks of life. The teachers are talented and diverse providing thorough course content and the end of year shows are always a highlight!

Low value for price, some of the instructors are talented. However there are much better pole schools in safer areas, there are always drug addicts lerking near the premises. Would not recommend for women.

Great venue for dancing - yes there are mirrors. Feels like a classic ballet studio complete with practice bar all be it with retractable bars hanging from the roof. Have only tried the Rad fitness classes and they keep me bopping all week. Fun fitness while reliving the best hits from the 80s and 90s. Ally is really supportive of first timers and makes sure it's fun for all levels at the same time - no easy task! Highly recommend if your in the mood to bust a move.
