Botany Bay
"One of our most photographed bays, Botany Bay is famous, offering stunning views of white cliffs and beautiful chalk stacks. When the tide is out, Botany bay is a great location for fossil hunting and exploring rock pools. There's plenty of exposed sand to enjoy when the tide is in, but due to the bay's shape the ends are cut off at high tide.Parking is limited. No free parking available in Kingsgate Avenue/Fitzroy Avenue, where 24hr patrols are in force. Permit Holders only. This is a residential area, so please park sensibly in designated parking areas, being aware of emergency vehicles. Parking advised at Palm Bay Avenue, where there's over 200 free parking spaces, CT9 3PP for Palm Bay beach and a short cliff to Botany Bay."

This place was on my list to visit for a long time. It takes more then 2 hours drive from London, depending on the traffic. But it was worth the trip definitely. You can park off the road, there are easy steps to get there. There are public toilets to use. There is a food and beverage stand on the beach and they had cold drinks, coffee, ice cream and nice food . The beach is nice, clean with fine sand, you can stay in the sun or take the shade. Lots of space to put your towel. The scenery is just amazing and it's worth visiting. Keep an eye on the tide. You can follow on line. When tide is low you can walk along the lines.
It's beautiful beach and the main attraction is the Chalk like Cliffs, it's beautiful to watch. The interesting this it's not too crowded like Bournemouth beach. Near to the Botany bay you don't have any restaurant so if you are visiting then it's better carry some food. Parking is the other challenge they have very small parking place. Some how we managed to park the cark in Road. If you want to relax for a day without any disturbance then it's a best beach .
Excellent place to visit with family. Sand beach, nice public walkways, excellent landscape. Not really crowded. You can hardly find such a nice sand beach in Kent areas, absolutely better than the pebble beaches you find in other famous beaches in Kent.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Gorgeous beach with stunning views of the cliffs. Only down side there is no cafe/restaurant and parking is horrendous. I saw around 4 car accidents where people were trying to park or leave on a narrow residential road. I was there on a heatwave weekend.
One of the best beaches in East England. Around 2 hours journey by car, from London. White Chalk cliffs, worth seeing. Sandy beach, good place for family outing, in Summer. If you have a plan to drive, the best time to visit is early mornings as very limited place for car parking.
The surroundings might look stunning but the beach itself is really really disappointing! The beach is way over crowded and the entry to the water is really difficult and dangerous, lots of sharp rocks, moss and dirt. Be careful if you are going with small kids and stay away from the public toilet if you can!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
It's a true mesmerizing experience if you are a sea lover! Make sure to go at low tide time so you can walk across the cliffs and it's so powerful you can feel the energy of the water and it's breathtaking! Have a picnic and dip your feet in the water! Walk barefoot ! It's just amazing ! There is a lifeguard kiosk but today was closed I guess it opens in the summer season only Not many facilities around but yes there are public toilets and a restaurant/pub within hotel facilities on the top of the bay. Don't miss the view from the top footpath too! And I highly suggest to walk from Botany bay back to Viking Bay in Broadstairs by the Viking coastal path. You can also cycle it. Just two big high hills you can always push it if it's not en e-bike ! I did go from the station in the morning 11am to the bay by bus walk 15 Min to the bay and then walked back 2pm - 3pm as explained above and it was just perfect! The tide came up just 20 Min after I arrive @12 and I was able to walk through the cliffs closer to the water just on time! There is a great pub I raccomend to stop by at Kingsgate castle beach with benches outside and the most beautiful view
Check tide times before visiting so rut you can enjoy going around the cliffs. Nice sandy beach. Get down in stairs or ramp which are a bit further. Basic toilet facility. A kiosk at the lower level is handy. Not much place to buy food/drinks other than these. Parking is challenging so study the area to find a suitable one beforehand.
Lovely sandy beach. Was quiet too so had a lot space. Amazing views from the hills above. Facilities wise, not much here besides a restaurant. Had port a loos for toilets was clean near parking area.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
