"Building materials giant Boral has been ordered to clean up an oil spill that contaminated waterways in Melbourne's western suburbs. The spill contaminated a creek known as the Paisley Challis Drain in Williamstown and flowed into a marine sanctuary in Port Phillip Bay that is home to coral and sharks. Close to two weeks after the spill, which occurred on Melbourne Cup Day, the Environment Protection Authority EPA announced it was legally enforcing Boral to "restore the creek and wetlands to their former condition". "Tim Claeys, who lives near Paisley Challis Drain, said the EPA didn't act quickly enough to provide information on the spill to local residents exposed to fumes. "We see men with masks and protective clothing walking around yet there are residents living five metres from the creek just staring at it and we haven't been told if there's a danger to us," he said. "There was no response from council or local members [of parliament] – just nothing." "Why has it taken so long? They knew it was Boral. Everyone knew that from day one."
Should be a zero star option. As mentioned previously, Boral have poisoned the local waterways. And when i finally get their 'community statement' is there any mention of an apology? Of course not. When the penalty is handed out it should be as a percentage of the ceo's salary.
Love moving borals machinery around, Best work
