Loved this. Will definitely do again. I’d say it’s not accessible so if you can’t do stairs or you have a stroller it’s not ideal. But if you can’t the sights are amazing. You’ll see whales and seals and beautiful rock formations. The path is pretty easy to moderate. A lovely time. And finish it with a dip in the sea and a beer.
Stunning 4.5km walk from Bondi to Coogie with paved walkways and signages all through. The walk was lined with fitness stations and a few cafes along the way, and the views of the Tasman Sea were 10/10! Likely the best way to experience multiple neighbourhoods in Sydney in one go.
One of the most breathtaking walks I’ve ever done, super easy to do and there are lockers at Coogee and Bondi beach so if you’ve taken transit instead of driving and have a backpack or something, it’s so convenient to leave it there for you walk! I went there and back and stopped for many photos and it was like 2.5 hours
Beautiful walk to Bondi beach. Weather was great at the same time so I really enjoyed the walk. It’s a pretty easy walk with a clear pavement which was well built.nnTook me about 2.5 hours with many stops in between from Coogee to Bondi. I suggest taking the longer route and hugging coast during the entire walk so you can enjoy the views and fresh air
The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk strings together some of Sydney’s best ocean views like beads on a line. You start with Bondi’s broad arc of sand, then the path rises to sandstone headlands where the Pacific fills your peripheral vision and sea spray hangs in the air. The track dips and climbs in easy waves, revealing a new cove every few minutes. Tamarama is a pocket beach with punchy surf, Bronte brings a heritage ocean pool and grassy picnic lawns, and Clovelly narrows into a snorkel friendly inlet where the water often looks aquarium clear. Keep going and Gordon’s Bay appears with its tangle of fishing boats and rocky shelves, before Coogee opens wide at the finish.nnWhat makes this walk special is how varied it feels over about six kilometers. One moment you are leaning on a cliff railing watching waves explode against the rock platform, the next you are wandering past banksias and coastal heath that buzz with honeyeaters. Boardwalk sections keep the footing simple above fragile dunes, and staircases deliver you down to sand whenever a swim or coffee break calls your name. Benches pop up in well chosen spots for lingering over the view, and there are plenty of side tracks if you like exploring.nnA few pointers make it smoother. Start early for gentler light and fewer people, carry water and sunscreen, and wear shoes you are happy to climb stairs in. Amenities are spaced sensibly along the route, with ocean pools and change rooms at several beaches, plus cafés within a minute or two of the path. Buses connect both ends, so you can commit to the full distance without worrying about a loop back. However you pace it, the walk delivers that unbeatable mix of sea air, workout and postcard scenery that leaves you salty haired and grinning at the finish.
