This is arguably Sydney’s best “free” tourist attraction. The views on this walk are quite simply spectacular. Do you want to see stunning views of the sea and coastline? Are you interested to know how Sydney residents run, walk, surf, swim, workout and practice yoga? Do you want to see one of the most stunning sunrises of your life? Looking for inspiration to feel good about life and the beautiful world we live in?
Whether you're in the mood for a brisk morning run or a leisurely stroll with photo ops, this scenic coastal trail is a must-do in Sydney. Just bring water, sunscreen, comfy shoes — and maybe catch sunrise or avoid peak crowds.
The Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk squeezes a whole highlight reel into a couple of kilometres. You start with Bondi’s curve of sand and that bright ocean pool clinging to the headland, then the path rises and the Pacific fills your field of vision. Spray hangs in the air, banksias rattle in the breeze and the rock shelves below boom as sets roll through. It is lively without feeling crowded first thing in the morning, a mix of runners, pram pushes, swimmers with goggles around their necks and visitors stopping every few metres because the outlook keeps changing. Mackenzies Bay appears like a stone amphitheatre, Tamarama offers a pocket of clean sand and punchy surf, and Bronte arrives with its grassy park and heritage baths cut into the southern rocks.nnThe walking itself is straightforward but never dull. Boardwalks glide above fragile dunes, then a string of stairs lifts you to the next headland for another angle on the cliffs. Benches are placed where you would have stopped anyway. If you are tempted by the water, you are spoiled for choice. Slip into Icebergs for salty laps, time a dip at Tamarama between sets, or finish with a float in Bronte Baths or a quick wallow in the Bogey Hole when the tide is kind. Coffee and breakfast are never far away, which makes it easy to turn a short stroll into a relaxed morning out.nnA few things help. Start early for cooler air and softer light, carry water and sunscreen because shade is patchy, and wear shoes you are happy climbing in. The route includes stairs, so some sections are awkward with a pram, but buses from Bondi Junction make it simple to begin at either end and ride back. After rain the rocks glisten and the sea goes slate blue, in winter you might spot whales from the lookouts. However you pace it, this small stretch delivers big views and that happy, salty reset you only get from walking beside open water.
Amazing walk with stunning viewsnHighly recommended it. You can walk all the way to Coogee Beach if you are after something further.

Along the way, you'll pass stunning beaches like Tamarama and Mackenzies Bay, dramatic lookout points such as Marks Park and Mackenzies Point, and even the historic Waverley Cemetery, perched right on the cliff’s edge.nnIt’s an easy-to-moderate path, mostly paved with a few stairs, making it accessible for most fitness levels. Expect ocean breezes, surfers riding the waves below, and plenty of photo-worthy moments around every corner.nnWhether you're here for exercise, photography, or simply to take in the views, the Bondi to Bronte Walk is a perfect slice of coastal Sydney — scenic, vibrant, and unforgettable.
