Went to the Blue Ox based on the reviews and was not disappointed, friendly welcome and seated by the fire a good start. Drinks and garlic bread soon arrived, this was followed by the mains, we had the Barra it was so fresh with crispy skin, asparagus in filo pastry was a delight as was the mash and tomatoes. Portion size was good but left just enough room for sweets all in all a great dining experience, we will go back for more
Got a table that would have been comfortable for 6 - but we were 8 plus a high chair. They managed to get the kids food out 30 mins before our food came out - and then some had to be sent back because it was rare when we'd ordered well done. And they lost one of our orders as well. Desert was good though.
The Blue Ox serves the most amazing food, served by friendly staff. The Blue Ox offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a delightful dining experience. The Scotch fillet just melt in your mouth; I love them served with Hollandaise sauce. The sides are equally impessive, as are the decadent desserts. Try the Creme Brulee or the Tasting Plate. Everything is made in house, and is top quality.
Not the best place for a crowd bigger than 6 people. Food took an hour and a half to come out and the menu choices were quite boring
The food here is consistently excellent. We have never been disappointed when we come here.

A great meal enjoyed on 22nd Jan. Try the fillet/beef cheek duo - so tender and the Trio desert - umm!
