If you cant find the beginning of the walk, you are not the only one. Google maps shows it wrong. Go to rosemead road Picnic area, park there and you will see the beginning of the Blue Gum Walk there : thank me later. A lot of the walk is uphill, not too difficult though. We enjoyed it.
Challenging, yet rewarding hike. The rock formations, waterways, flora and fauna ensure this is a great walking trail. I even saw a family of 3 Lyre Birds, which I’ve never seen in the wild. Highly recommend to those who love a bush trail.
We spent exactly 2 hours on this loop walk as a young couple. Google Maps location is a bit off, the entrance is actually from Rosemead Rd near picnic area. We parked at Bike Trails where Google lead us, and had to hike another 20 minutes to the entrance via Heritage Steps.
Beautiful walk not far from Hornsby station. It took me about 3 hours to complete, mostly in the shade. Fairly quiet track during weekdays.
Thornleigh station to Hornsby station 10km one way, this is part of the great north walk. Takes 4.5 hours with 4 years old kid. Kid is ok not tired, adult end up with sour legs and feet. Moderate not hard track. Only a short of way with steep stairs. Most are flat ways with great view. Crossing the river/creek is most fun part.
