Amazing cocktail list...combined with the most stunning view in Australia, Sydney Opera house and Harbour Bridge! The bartenders are precisely created to make the remarkable cocktails that can blow your mind... delicious 5 star food can bring your taste to the next level as well, and all of this is on reasonable prices too. My partner and I were guest at the hotel and having the chance to enjoy the bar was one of our tops in the to-do list.
We phoned to book here to use the high tea $190 voucher we were gifted last year. Arrived just after 12pm, it was already nearly full. We were given a table by a wall in near the entrance with views to Barangaroo. Not able to get any table looking out to the Opera house or harbour bridge as they were already booked and they would want you to spend at least $145 per person to secure that kind of view. Overall the service was friendly. The food was good enough for a high tea. Other than the views nothing really much to shout about as the place felt a bit old school and dated, $190 for two would be too much to pay. Felt like we nearly couldn't use the gift voucher for Saturday, a condition of which they didn't say when I called in to book.
Lovely bar with great views! Extensive wine list, beer and spirits. Signature cocktail selection, and all the usual cocktails available but not on the menu. We sat on a comfortable sofa, but there were plenty of window seats free.
Really nice bar with stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera Bridge. The staff were great, they even saved us a table by the window as other guests left so we could enjoy the view. Amazing cocktail list and the waiter offered to make us drinks that weren't on the menu. I'd definitely come here again.
Great food, great view, horrendous service. We came here for the “trust the chef” menu, and the food was fantastic. The problem was that the service was confusing at best. At no time did anyone tell us anything about the dishes they were serving us mind you, they’re not listed on a menu. Nor did they explain that the first two very small plates served together were to share, followed by one small plate to share, followed by 2 large plates to share, followed by two desserts. We also weren’t given the allegedly included glass of Chandon that was listed on the website. If this establishment trained their waitstaff to know what was going on with the menu or to explain it at all, it would have been a spectacular experience. If I went again I would just order drinks and items off the regular menu a la carte.
They actually overcharge you above the menu prices. I got 2 signature cocktails which the menu said were $28 each. I was a little boozy and didn’t notice on the receipt that they actually charged $29 dollars a dollar more than the listed price. Would expect better at what is mean to be a high class establishment. EDIT - I went back up to the bar to ask about the overcharge. A kind waitress informed me the price had gone up to $29. I showed her a menu where it said $28. She checked another menu which also said $28. She asked me to come back in a few hours because there was no supervisor on the floor currently and they needed a supervisor to refund me. Stay tuned for more edits.
Do you want to impress your in-law? Bring them here for high tea. The views are truly unrivalled, and because it's Christmas, the high tea screams the season. They also have vegan-friendly options, so all family members will be catered to. The high tea package per person plus is; $99.00 for coffee or tea, $109.00 for a glass of bubbles, and $120.00 for on-flowing bubbles, from memory. Given that this is the Shangri-La and the high tea treats are plentiful keep in mind, we didn't have breakfast, it's pretty darn good. So raise a glass and a pinky to a delicious high tea. PS: If you prefer a nighttime event for my single pringles or couples wanting something nice, come to this place when vivid is on. It’s truly magical
Was expecting better. Very dark and alittle dated. Drinks served in Crystal glasses but no coasters. Music is alittle too “nightclubbing” rather than jazzy and chill. Probably won’t come back and definitely wouldn’t recommend for a date night. Needs a reno.
Hands down one of the best views in Sydney. Great cocktail and wine list and very attentive staff. Our guy was new so extremely attentive, but he was nice.
High tea on Boxing Day. Great views. Food was tasty, plenty of it. We had the free flow sparkling package, and got our moneys worth
