This has been my local for the last 2 years. Always had a great coffee and went in November for breakfast for the first time. Both my friends meal & mine was delicious!! I had the potato rosti with the poached egg & she had the omelette. Great artisan grocery store too, lots of different sauces, treats & wine to take away.
Great cafe, huge selection of food that keeps changing The steak sandwich i had today was epic. The excellent coffee made by Aldo is the best in Hawthorn and the service is friendly and second to none.Food: 5/5
I stumbled across this amazing place whilst wandering through Hawthorn on a weekend in Melbourne. The place has great character and lots of amazing treats and groceries. Georgia the owner is super nice, friendly and engaging and Aldo the barista is a hoot of a guy, really engaging and entertaining. And the coffee is good. I’ve been back twice and will be back again a few more times before heading back home to Sydney. Thanks guys
We loved this great little Cafe and shop just down the road from the auburn shops. Atmosphere is light and pleasant and they even have a couple of their own car spaces, although I wouldn't expect to get one if coming during peak times. We had the crumbed chicken panini, a salad and fritter and the pistachio brownie. All delicious and pretty good value too. Will definitely come again
Excellent food and great ambience. Blood Orange is a cool combination of a boutique store and brunch cafe. The menu offerea most brunch classics as well as good smoothies. Our food was excellent if fairly high priced but the coffee was average. As a side note though this isn't an issue. Cafe customers must order at the counter but your food/coffee is brought out to you. 4/5
I haven't had a sit down meal here but had the takeaway salads a few times, and regret it every time. I don't think they season anything. The salads look so good but taste so bland. Also waited a long time for the food, and it was overpriced. 2 stars only because the grocery part has decent products wine, artisan chocolates, local products like hot sauces, drinks etc. Other comments have already mentioned the lit guy that works there. I would echo these sentiments.
Croissant was very bad , not fresh at all. While there, we heard the owner maybe, as he is always there or the manager making racist comments about a staff. Saying I don’t know where she’s come from , she can’t speak English….it was loud enough everyone could hear.
Struggling to give this more than two stars, let me explain. First things first, lovely venue. Me and my partner both chose the potato rosti, which you can see from the photo is aesthetically pleasing - however that’s where it stops unfortunately! The hollandaise sauce was a vinegary mess, and when we challenged the waitress regarding the extremely bland potato, there was an awkward moment and nothing actually eventuated from it. Pretty disappointing experience for a fundamental mistake.
