Don't be deceived by the small exterior. This place has a massive amount of memoriablia inside. It is exceptionally well set out. The staff were extremely knowledgable and passionate about the collection and also ensuring that any local historical landmarks in general are recognized and acknowledged appropriately.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Interesting small museum with information about and artifacts from intrepid explorers of Australia and the Pacific. Includes the remains of Cook’s Tree. Located on the way to the memorial at Captain Cook’s Landing Place. Pleasant host.
This place is really over rated. I thought it would be something special seeing the rating but the museum is pretty tiny. You have to pay $4 to enter into the museum and you are not allowed to take pictures inside. Moreover, the host is quite unfriendly.
Amazing experience with such a knowledgeable and interesting curator. Best $3 I've spent in years
Didn't realise or remember from my school's days all the different explorers who camped in Australia. Bruny Is was first place apple tree planted. Excellent aray of explorer maps , descriptions....poor CAPT Bligh has a tough time in Ozz.Visited onWeekday
Extraordinary and vast private collection of artefacts with specific focus on Pacific exploration by Bligh, Cook, D'Entrecastreaux, Flinders et al. Building is constructed from convict-made bricks. Allow 30-45 minutes to view the entire collection.
