- Coffee excellent 5 stars! - Parking free and easy - Team friendly, attentive, professional - Caters for vegans - Great atmosphere/dining experience - Menu lacks clear description of items - Food could be improved My arm was severly twisted to return to Blackwork after my poor experience over 2 years ago when the menu online was different to the menu in the cafe. I chose to come to Blackwork knowing I could eat from the menu, but the different menu had nothing from it I could eat. I chose to go with a dish that only had tomato in it that I couldn't eat and I thought I could pick it out. No! It had tomato SAUCE all over it. The menu lacked clear description of the item. Fast forward to this week I ordered the Super bowl and was sadly disappointed. The taste was good but where was the roasted cauliflower? Was it made into cauliflower rice? If so, write in the description "roasted cauliflower rice" so diners have a clear expectation. That bowl was not worth the price and I wouldn't buy it again. The chickpeas on the top were great but it could have done with more. The coffee is excellent and was the only reason we visited this occasion. The bowl of waffle chips were delicious with good pricing for the serving size.
We all had a great meal for brunch. Highly recommended. included Cold Soba Noodle Salad, Vegan Nutrition Bowl & mix of sides - roast tomatoes, hash brown, greens and mushrooms. Vegetarian options: Lots great plant based options. Dietary restrictions: Great place for dietary requirements - one person in our group was vegetarian, one vegan, one vego with allergies to gluten, dairy and soy. the menu is well suited.
A great cafe with ample seating both inside and outside. The cafe can get really busy so ensure you book in advance. A decent selection of food to choose from. We choose the eggs benedict and the pulled beef and they were delicious. The portions are quite generous. Staff are attentive and friendly. Plenty of car park available.
An aesthetically pleasing cafe located amongst the busy precinct of Croydons Main Street shops. We went along on a Friday morning and within 20mins of us being there, all tables became full. Always a good sign when the locals pop in! What we ordered: Breakfast burger Eggplant shakshuka w/mushrooms Magic Almond milk hot chocolate Given it was a rainy and cold day, shakshuka went down a treat! A hearty and saucy meal which created warmth instantly. The added mushrooms is definitely worth it especially those who love more veggies in their dishes! The breaky burger came with a side of waffle fries winning. The egg and BBQ combo made this burger a great start to any day! Next on the to try list is definitely the waffles - we saw them be delivered to another table and they looked great!
Must visit cafe in Croydon! Great food and amazing coffee, highly recommend the bone broth soup and the wagyu steak sandwich! Those two are absolutely sensational
After visiting many cafes across the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, and not being wowed by any particular dish, and putting up with the same stock standard salmon or beef eggs benedict, I visited for the first time this cafe in Croydon and tried the Pulled Beef Benedict, WOW! Where to begin... the presentation blew me away, and I did wonder where the beef was... But once I cut inside this "creation" it was all there. Incredibly well crafted on every detail, the flavour combinations, creativity, and overall structure left me very, very impressed and satisfied! The freshest beef, and best hollandaise sauce I've ever had, and with the mandarin and beetroot chips, simply divine! I'll be back! : PS: Great service and nice coffee too.
Cute little spot in Croydon. We ordered Chilli prawn scramble, the Pulled beef benedict & coffee. Great presentation but poor portion size to the price paid comparison to other brunch spots. Staff was great, attentive and welcoming. Plenty of parking space. Overall an OK experience.
It’s a really busy cafe with a generally young crowd but we easily found ourselves absorbed in the vibe The food was great, coffee could have been hotter but was decent enough for a casual brunch
it's a very cute cafe which gets quite busy on weekends! i think most dishes on the menu were quite nice but little elements could be improved to make them excellent. our favourite was definitely the chilli scramble!
My blueberries pancake was good. But my matcha latte and my husband chai latte was not good - too milky.
