Yummy pies and sweet treats. I was overwhelmed by choice, but I got a beef and mushroom pie which was amazing!! Delicious pastry on the outside too.nnI went back in for a custard tart which was perfect, not overly sweet and a great way to round off my lunch. The service was friendly even though I was slow to decide what I wanted.
The creamy garlic mushroom and steak pie was amazing. Pepper steak was delicious apparently, my partner had it, sausage roll good. But way too much salty potato on the potato pie, it tasted like deb with a little mince. The sweets were delicious! Especially the bee sting vanilla slice, this one should win Australia's best vanilla slice, hands down!
Best pies in Queensland. The Big Mack pie is 10/10.....as are just about every pie, pastry, sandwiche, roll, and slice they do.
Enjoyed one of the nicest chunky steak pies I have ever eaten. The pie was full of flavour, had enough gravy inside and big chunks of tender steak. Pastry was flaky too. Really enjoyed stopping in here and will continue to do so when passing through town. Also tried some sweets but the pie was the winner for me. Tried the vanilla slice custard filling and the zesty lemon slice. The vanilla slice was very sweet and made in the traditional way. Need to eat it with a knife/fork as it can be hard to get through the pastry. The filling was a very vanilla tasting custard. I couldn’t eat all the icing topping as it was too sweet for me. My partner liked his zesty slice but said he could have shared it. Next time we will try something else there but will definitely be returning. Highly recommend! Cost us $27.80 for all of these items. Which I think is reasonable for being freshly made quality items of a decent serving size.
Another great Bakeries where they combine good coffee and a great selection of pies and cakes.nVery busy, which is a good indication of good food etc
