28/11/23 -I would NEVER recommend #BlackburnLakePrimarySchoolnnAs of 21/07/2024 - This is the 25th time since originally posting on 28/11/23, this honest and RELEVANT google review of @BlackburnLakePrimarySchool has been removed.nnI am of the view that the school does not take well to detailed reviews.nnThis post is above all informational of MY experience at Blackburn Lake Primary school and what to do if ANY school fails to action/support families in the event of relentless bullying and who they can turn to: #VictoriaPolice.nnGoogle reviews are exactly that- reviews, good bad or otherwise so others can make an informed decision.nn2023 Blackburn Lake Primary School : Vaping, threats of violence/killing, and bullying all of this in week 1 of term 1 - 2023.nnBullying culture is alive and flourishing under the leadership of newly appointed Principal David previously assistant principal and new Assistant Principal Rebecca aka: Bec - formerly Prep teacher @BlackburnLakePrimarySchoolnnBoth are aloof and dismissive of the serious damaging nature of bullying, threats of violence and assault.nnI had contacted both David and Rebecca in writing with my concerns of #bullyingblackburnlakeprimaryschool and threats of violence to my child on many occasions only to be dismissed - in both term 1 and term 2.nnTerm 3- known school bully physically assaulted another student, witnessed by many students of different grade levels at lunch play and when it was reported to the teachers, the students reporting the incident were deemed trouble makers for bothering the teachers and the bully was not held accountable.nnBoth David and Rebecca failed to action in any capacity.nnI escalated my concerns to The Victorian Education Dept ' , The Ombudsman and eventually Victoria Police as the school Principal David failed in his duty of care not only to my child but to MANY others.nnIf your child is bullied/threatened at ANY school, and the school fails to respond/act or support your child, contact Youth Resources Division Forest Hill Police - you will be heard and assisted.nnI was informed by Youth Services @ForestHillPolice that ALL Victorian School Principals are well versed in protocols regarding threats of killing, physical harm, and/or violence made to a student by another. Principals are OBLIGATED to inform and refer the student/parents/guardians being bullied to Victoria Police - but principal David and assistant principal Rebecca neglected to do so on ANY occasion.nnBecause of the lazy governance at BLPS, both David and Rebecca FAILED in their duty of care - period.nnTheir many failings and the highly INAPPROPRIATE conduct of new Principal David is truly disturbing.nnRecording voice ? my child and her classmate in term 3 with his mobile phone in HIS office without prior knowledge or consent is not only inappropriate it is ILLEGAL and still has not been explained/ clarified to date after I sent a please explain email.nnAs it is our final year, grade 6 - I doubt I will receive any clarification or explanation as to why.nnThis grossly inappropriate and illegal conduct has bèen reported to Victoria Police.nnALWAYS, ALWAYS address your concerns in writing to schools so there can be no denials or misinterpretations.nEmails are trailed as evidence.nn[ If you need assistance dealing with violent or distressing online bullying content,ngo to: www.esafety.gov.au - they will act to remove content and track down offenders via IP addresses and will involve Victoria Police ]nnIt is my absolute strong opinion that the current leadership at #Blackburnlakeprimaryschool needs to be SERIOUSLY investigated more thoroughly at the very least by the @VictorianOmbudsman.nnKids should have fond memories of their primary school years - not trauma.
Blackburn Lake is a wonderful primary school. The staff are caring, knowledgeable and supportive and both of my children have absolutely loved going here. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
I've being feeling very reflective recently and as a year 12 in 2022. I really miss the good old days at this beautiful school, the staff are warm and welcoming, there are great memories to be made here. So parents do not miss out on an incredible opportunity to send your children here. Trust me you will not regret it! Thank you Blackburn Lake Primary School for all the memories!
The Principal and assistant principal took care of our son and supported his needs.nThe teacher was knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. I am truly happy for my son to be in this school. I think it is one of the best schools in the area.
Many of the kids attitudes are terrible and do not respect each other and the teachers. Many kids have been annoyed by this school and it’s staff as they are not teaching anything to the students. Out of the 6 sessions each day, only 1 will benefit the children’s knowledge.I have heard of some younger kids who do extremely inappropriate things and kids who throw rocks into some of the puddles that form after rain. One of the nicest teachers in the school will be unable to teach the younger generations as she has been away for 2 terms. Teachers favour the students who are popular and not kids excelling in their study or excel in sport or are very responsible. There are some very bad role models who do very unintelligent things which may damage young children’s minds. I would rate this school 0 stars if I could and I would definitely recommend not sending your children to this school.
