The Black Pudding Café is a cosy little café located in the port area of Echuca.

Story

Situated on historic High St, our cafe is a favourite with locals, and offers a great little spot to soak up the history of the town, over a great cup of coffee.
Established for eight years, The Black Pudding has developed a reputation amongst both locals and tourists for serving up great coffee and delicious food. With the best breakfast in town and inviting lunch menu, we also have daily specials that are always popular.

Open from 8am-3pm for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, we have indoor and outdoor dining options, including a secluded and enclosed courtyard right on the Campaspe River – perfect for any season!

The better half and I just had breakfast here. I had a build your own which I included two eggs scrambled, bacon, chorizo, toasted turkish bread and black pudding. The better half had the baked eggs and a side of black pudding. The food was awesome, the black pudding was slightly spiced just right. The bacon was yummo, the scrambled eggs were silky smooth and the chorizo was a nice one. No complaints about the baked eggs, they were completely finished. Oh we ordered a couple of iced coffees too and they were nice!! 9.5/10

We had a delicious breakfast. The food was cooked perfectly. The only down sides- ordered long black in a mug but got a small cup, asked for coffee to come with the meal but it came well before, no cracked pepper AND none of the staff were wearing a mask, nor was I asked for my vaccination certificate.

Let's not get precious about staff not wearing masks and asking for vax certificates, like some reviewers. Perhaps Uber Eats should be considered if you're that way inclined. Black Pudding Cafe is an early-opener that's ideal for brekkie, as was the case for us. Genuine friendly service, bloody good coffee and some of the best scrambled eggs we've consumed. Keep up the mighty fine work, guys.

All day breakfast is always good, the eggs were poached perfectly, coffee was good but not great, or order took a bit of time, at least the service staff were lovely, we were in Echuca for the winter blues festival so we sat outside, we could hear live music playing close by, or was a  great atmosphere.

BLT Bagel    YES PLEASE!!! So good! The staff are all awesome and the food is seriously good I go for anything on there menu and their specials are great but it is really hard to pass up for the BLT for breakfast brunch or lunch! The joint is super clean and it’s always busy so if your in a group ring ahead for a table! But they always do their best to fit you in anyway! The coffee is awesome too! 10/10

Masterful crafted coffees and drinks.  I really liked my iced chocolate, and the lattes were balanced.  The ham and cheese toasties were also pretty good by cafe standards.

Awesome food, service and great coffee Had the Eggs Benedict, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the ham was extremely tasty, side of mushrooms were great, really enjoyed Definitely quality local ingredients and also recommend the side of Black Pudding of course

It was definitely a great referral to check out The Black Pudding. my Granola Bowl was delicious. The Mrs had the crumpets for breakfast and she was very happy.  We just wish we had more views of the river without the trees in front of it to feel more special.  . The service was excellent

Good but not great.  The bacon was a bit salty and the banana bread lacked a bit of flavour.  Poached were great.  Nice coffee.  No cutlery offered with take-away meal.

The breakfasts here were incredible. Coffee was good too and everything was reasonably priced. Our dog was allowed with us outside which was great, and the staff were very friendly!
