Came to the store to pick up a replacement pair of shoes and had the most wonderful experience from one of the ladies there. The way she was educating me about shoes, shopping tips, after care and the brand in general was really heart warming. I felt like I was being lovingly taken care of by my own grandma. She also told me how she’d been with Betts for over 20 years which says a lot in itself! I really hope she gets a chance to read this as I didn’t fully express my gratitude in the moment There were so many customers and she was trying to help everyone Thanks so much for the warm service, from the guy with the different coloured shoes.
I’ve never experienced such wonderful and knowledgeable service before. Linda should be out there sharing her knowledge across the nation training retail employees. If you struggle to find shoes due to size this is the place to go. With Linda’s help you will leave with a great pair or five pairs of shoes that will make you feel like you are walking on clouds. Thank you Linda
Wonderful customer service from Linda. Very knowledgeable, taught me a few tips for ensuring good fit for kids shoes. Didn't try to upsell but helped us buy exactly what we needed with a laugh along the way.
What beautiful customer service we received from a beautiful lady at Water Town Betts today she greeted us with a friendly smile & chat, sorry didn’t get her name. Thanks Val & Cam mother & son doing Mother’s Day shopping
Excellent customer service. It was busy but Linda went out of her way to find other boots I may like. I left happy after buying 2 pairs and having a nice chat. Thanks Linda!
Shocking customer service and inappropriate store policy. I visited the store this past Sunday and wanted to share my experience because I am quite honestly still shocked on how it went. I purchased shoes, tapped my card as requested, a few seconds later the shop assistant found they were unsellable she damaged them when taking the price tag off and then they refused to refund what I paid just a few minutes earlier! I went to the till to buy a pair of work stilettos. There were two pairs available, one looking new and one that had the front of the insole where the padding is very uneven and damaged. I was only intending to buy the undamaged ones. The younger blond shop-assistant was checking them and asked me to swipe the card to pay. I paid, the receipt came out of the till. Immediately after that, she asked me if there’s another pair of the shoes available and I said yes, but that I only want to purchase these as the other ones are damaged. She said that she’ll be right back and walked away, leaving me waiting at the counter without any explanation. I could see her talking to the short-haired seller and they both come back with the other pair of shoes. They were swapping the pairs around and I tried stopping them by asking if they can please explain what’s happening. The younger shop assistant said that the sole came off. I was unsure what she meant so the short-haired lady showed me the pair I had purchased and said that they’re swapping them because I cannot get the ones I purchased. Now I don’t know if it was because I was wearing a youthful dress on my way to a picnic or what else but the short-haired shop assistant spoke down to me, making me feel like I should be grateful to be getting those shoes the ones I never intended to purchase, with damaged and uneven padding, especially as ‘they’re from season 2018’ as she said, like the damage in quality was to be expected. I’ve told the ladies that I was only interested in buying the pair that I had purchased from the start as I didn’t wish to buy a poor-quality shoe and that I would in this case wish to get a refund immediately. I was told by the short-haired lady that that’s not an option and they will give me a store credit. I’ve then explained that I do not wish to get a store credit and would like a refund as I live far away and only rarely come to these shops. I was told again that they cannot give me a refund as the store policy is to give store credit. I have then emphasized that I had paid and not even left the store at all this whole time this was not a case of buying something and later on changing your mind and wanting to return the item. The short-haired lady was adamant that I can only get store credit, especially because they have another pair I could’ve purchased the ones with damaged inner sole. And so, the short-haired shop assistant handed me a card with details to fill in, telling me that that’s required to get a credit, and walked away. I put down my name, address, email and explained the younger shop assistant processing the credit that I do not wish to disclose my phone number. She told me all that information is needed to get the store credit and I insisted I did not wish to disclose that personal detail. She walked away and then came back with the short-haired lady who walked to the computer, looked at the screen and asked me for my phone number, again. I said firmly that I am not willing to disclose that information, she then tried to persuade me to still disclose it and after she realised that I wasn’t willing to give my phone number at all she said to the younger shop assistant to just put an ‘x’ there. This whole ordeal was beyond unacceptable! From the way I was spoken to, to the unacceptable handling of the situation, it was all completely atrocious. At the end, instead of buying shoes, I ended up wasting precious time having to give my personal details in order to receive a credit for something that I’ve paid and shop assistant deemed unsellable a second after tapping my card without me stepping out of the shop.
My mother and I went to betts yesterday. Some of the best service I’ve ever received! Linda was ridiculously helpful. My mum is sick and has a great deal of trouble walking, she let me move a chair over so mum could sit by the mirror, and found every shoe in the store that fit what mum needed. Offered so many different options and alternatives, she knew where everything was and exactly what to look for. Tried on over 20 pairs of shoes! We were there for over an hour and she nothing but patient. Wish I could give 6 stars! She was so nice and accommodating I don’t think we’ll go anywhere else
We went to Betts Watertown and the lady who served us Linda. She has given us the best Customer service. She is very welcoming and friendly.
School shoe time! If you are in the market for school shoes, go and see Linda at Betts. She went above and beyond today. She knew exactly which school shoe would be the best fit style and needs. Couldn't recommend her more highly.
I was completely ignored by both workers and older lady with blue in her hair and a younger blonde lady. I went in alone and watched everyone get served as I looked around for shoes to match my graduation outfit. I had no idea what I was looking for. When I went in the second time, I heard the older lady mutter, “she’s back. Don’t bother”. Humiliating. I was the last person in the shop, alone. Still no help. I wish I could give no stars.
