Wish l had read the reviews first..... Order 2 coffees and 2 scones. Scones were like rock cakes. Coffee was OK but had to ask where was one of the coffees. 20minutes later got my coffee. Glad we received our coffees before one of the waiters left the shop to go for a cigarette. On his return buttered out the cigarette, lifted the lid of the garbage bin, put it in garbage bin went back into the cafe and proceeded to serve food and make coffees without washing his hands ...Disgusting!!! .
Service was prompt and friendly enough. We ordered a Southern chicken wrap which was amazing and we saw the wagyu burgers and steaks others were tucking into and wished we ordered them. Our Caramel lattes were fine as well.Food: 3/5
We had a table of 7 and it was literally the worst experience. Reading the reviews over the past 8 or so months I also wish I had read them prior to ordering as not much has changed. Their is something to be said about how you greet your customers, how the order is taken and how the food tastes and is served. I think the location is nice but that’s it which is a real shame
Unpleasant experience! Sat down here because there weren't any other cafes with tables available for us to sit with our dog. Berry was also crowded for lunch. The table was a little dirty but didn't really bother us. We went inside to order. We looked at what was in the food display and there wasn't much there to inspire. We waited to order from the older man behind the counter. He barely cracked a smile and seemed grumpy when it was our turn. He just looked at us without saying hello and waited there for us to order. We ordered spring rolls, greek pie and beef nachos. We asked for tap water. He handed us a filthy jug with filthy glasses upside down on top of unclean menus on the counter. We subsequently went and got our water bottles from our car. The counter guy added the meal up in front of me - $51 which he then rounded up to $55. I said "what is the extra charge for?" since it wasn't a Sunday or public holiday ..."is that extra a credit surcharge?" - he rudely replied "absolutely!". I've never been charged 7+% surcharge in my life, let alone at a dingy cafe. We waited over 20 mins. The order came out and the food deliverer who I think was a kitchen hand just put the food anywhere without asking who wanted what. I had to tell her where to put it. Greek pie was lackluster and the salad with it was pitifully inadequate. 1 small piece of tomato and two small leaves of baby spinach and a few slimy lettuce leaves. My son said the spring rolls were just ok. More crunch than substance and taste. My wife didn't like the nachos. It was drowned in the nachos sauce. We couldn't locate the beef. We think it was a vegetarian nachos by mistake?? We heard others complaining around us. One lady asked for utensils and was given a look and a half like she did something wrong but was eventually delivered them. Our utensils had to be polished with our napkins. Had such a yuck experience that we decided to get from across the way The Berry Chocolatier our coffees instead. The coffees there were great! Wish we had read reviews before we came. They make it difficult to look the place up for reading and writing reviews. All reference to the business name are hidden - no signs - no name on the menu. I'm sure because of all the bad reviews which we now discovered. Saw the counter guy later in the mall, having a smoke. He went back in and seemed to go back to work straight after without washing his hands. This can cause food poisoning. I hope he sanitizes if he handles food. We will not go here again, even if we are desperate.
I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. I ordered nachos and a receipt. The receipt was not itemised and stated tea instead of nachos. The owner said the machine was new and not programmed yet. When I got the nachos, they were cold. I returned them and got the same back reheated in the microwave, lukewarm and the taste was horrible, cooked with the cheapest ingredients. I will never go there again.
We now live in a world of social media and online reviews at our fingertips. I wish I checked google before entering! Get better guys. Being greeted like you’re an annoyance to the staff is not the way you treat customers. It’s actually ok to smile and say hello to your customers when they come in. I had the ham and salad Turkish and it was the most revolting sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Soggy stale Turkish, salad included 1 slice of cucumber & 1 slice of tomato and about 6 clover sprouts. Not sure what the sauce on it was but I can’t stop burping it up. Location is lovely with tables outside but watching every customer complain around me made me realise I wasn’t just being overly judgey.
Patrons here are not dining due to the food experience. It is due to surrounding cafes being full and these guys catch the over spill of hungry day trippers. Order at the bar as it isn't table service. Make sure your order is repeated back to you as I saw at least 4 meals being sent back as the wrong order was made. The staff feel very overwhelmed with the busy Berry weekend crowd and it shows. I had a tandoori chicken wrap. Wish I ate the hand made food we made for our 1 year old's lunch. Tandoori this wasn't. Pretty tasteless meal for a near $20.
It was alright. Standard kiosk fare. The southern fried chicken wrap could have done with a side salad or chips, probably the former, but was delicious. I'd expect Mosman-types would have something to complain about though. Vegetarian options: Reasonable sized portion.
Wasted my time queing up for coffee. Stood in line for nearly 10 minutes, was next in queue to be served. I was ignored by the man serving. When he was ready to seve he spoke to the man behind me ignoring me again which was odd. The man behind me pointed out I was next. The guy serving proceeded to complain to me they were busy which I could see, but so was all of Berry. Then when he finally wanted to take my order I asked for a couple takeaway coffees. He rudely said they weren't doing takeaways today. No apology. No sign to say this was the case despite someone before me had obviously ordered some takeaway burgers. He obviously was in a bad mood and didn't want any customers. He was so annoyed rude. Do not bother going here unless they get someone else to serve who actually wants to work there.
Not sure why the reviews are low, but 10/10 recommend the eggs Benedict with salmon!!
