This used to be a 5 star venue, great bar staff awesome live music venue especially for heavier shows. But went there last night for a fundraiser and the bands were told to keep it quiet. New owner apparently doesn't like loud music. Heard rumours it's going to be turned into a "gentleman's club". Really disappointing. **Edit** Owner replied to my review, but Google doesn't let me reply. Thank you Tiff for your response and clearing up what I had heard. I have been back since and not as disappointed as I was when I first wrote this review. Rating back to where it should be.

Great venue to catch a local band. The band room is spacious, and has nice acoustics. My band played our EP launch show here and it's probably one of the best venues I've played at. The front room is great for having a drink or feed with mates. There's a decent selection of beers available both on tap and in the fridge.

Loads of interesting people come here for the range of great music. I was sitting enjoying a burger, ok its my local, and a bat cave of goths started gathering to listen to a goth preferred band. Plenty of other times it's been hard core rockers at the Bendigo. If your interested in music that won't be found on a commercial station, then the Bendigo pub is the place for you. And their burgers aren't to shabby either.

Friendly staff! An amazing venue to watch bands and to also play at! The food and atmosphere is magnificent! A must visit to this pub if you're ever in Melbourne.
