COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Community Forum held in Logan Village
Our first Community Forum was held in October 2012 and with over 115 members of the community attending, including local, state and federal politicians, we were able to establish 10 key projects that are important to the people living in our local area. Including support for promoting the BRAKE driver education program, supporting the Logan Village Settler’s Day project and the introduction of CCTV cameras to improve safety and security in our area.
Logan Village Settlers’ Day – 1st September 2013
Logan Village was alive with history and festivities as it celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first land title deeds being settled in the area – as the official birthplace of Logan, there was a lot to celebrate. The day commenced with a street parade showcasing the history of the area, followed by entertainment, rides, market stalls and the re-enactment of Captain Logan landing! With over 5,000 people attending on the day, it was a fantastic success and one we were very proud to be involved in and support both financially and with director and staff volunteer assistance.
Jimboomba Relay for Life – Cancer Council Qld
As long time supporters of the Jimboomba Relay for Life, we are once again very proud to be the official HOPE sponsors of Relay for 2014, with over $150,000 raised last year, they’ve set the challenge for the 10th anniversary Relay - $200,000!! We have no doubt this passionate and dedicated community are just the people to do it and we’’ll be there to help achieve that goal.
Crowson Park Riding for the Disabled
When we were approached to assist in purchasing a much needed horse for the members of the Crowson Park Riding for the Disabled, we were only too thrilled to be able to help out. The original funding for the horse had fallen through and without our support the club wouldn’t have been able to go through with the purchase of ‘Belle’. This wonderful community group, provide such a terrific resource for people with disabilities within our community and we’re very proud to be able to support such a worthwhile organisation.
