The best Pizza we have had in Sydney so far Pepperoni. The tomatoes with anchovies were fantastic! Tuna Crudo lost the tuna in the sauce but not bad. The mushrooms had good texture but the spicy spice mix lost the mushrooms while the Cannoli was too hard and filling too thick. The jersey milk with mandarin granite a great dessert. Unfortunately the Limoncello was awful with a soapy taste…not sure what has gone wrong there. Overall a great experience with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
I have found my new favourite pizza place when not in Italy.nnThe wood fired pizza dough was lovely, light, and crispy well cooked. The clam pizza is a must try, the topping is simple yet delicious.nnStaff was friendly overall vibe was chill, family friendly dining.nn What we ordered:nn* Limoncello Spritz / Bella Brutta x Poor Toms Limoncello, Prosecco, Soda n* Scallop Crudo, Lemonade Fruitn* Chickpea Fritter, Pickled Onions, Anchovyn* Marinated Peppers, Capers, Oreganon* Clam Pizza: Surf clams, Pecorino, Fermented Chilli, Garlic, Parsleyn* Tiramisu
My partner and I have been to Bella Brutta numerous times over the years and it’s the consistently good pizza that brings us back every time.nnThe burnt crust might not be for everyone but we love it. I only gave 4 stars for service and atmosphere because sometimes the service can be a little slow when they’re busy and it does get a little loud at times.nnI'd still highly recommend it and if you think the noise might be an issue for you just book an early seating so you still get to experience excellent food and pizza.
Beef tongue - beautifully smoked and tender, perfect pairing with gribiche.nnArancini - nice flavour but a tad too salty. And $10 per ball is too steep IMO.nnChickpea fritter - didn’t know what to expect but very nice texture, almost like tofu, enjoyed the balance of flavour with pickled onions and anchovy. $12 each - again IMO would be only worth it if they grounded their own chickpea flour.nnPizza Clam - signature flavour but a bit too fishy for me. Perhaps could be lifted with more citrus/feta or maybe even caramelised onion.nnPizza Sausage - nice hint of the chilli.nnTiramisu - nice, would’ve been even better with alcohol in it but maybe they chose not to in order to cater for all ages and diet requirements?nnService & Atmosphere: Nice ambience, friendly and attentive service.nnOverall an enjoyable dining experience and looking forward to trying other dishes next time.
Love love love the recommendations from the staffs and bonus points for their customer service!nThe Clam pizza is the one you can’t miss! It’s really flavoured and the pizza base is one of the best Woodfire pizza you can find in Sydney. The chilli oil is the highlight!nThe Mushroom Ragù plate is a bit tricky, we don’t mind the strong taste of the mushroom so we like this dish. But if you can’t bear the “freshness” and the “earthy” taste of the mushroom, you might hate it so bad..n-nA bit pricy but worth it ;nNeed to try their popular Potato Pizza and the tiramisu next time!
