Started going to this practice after several GPs in the hills spoke very highly of Dr Carolyn Smale. I found her diagnosis & subsequent exercises to be extremely effective. It is very clear after speaking to her she’s extremely knowledgeable. She did not see me for any more sessions than necessary. In my experience her treatments are more about educating the patient to manage & overcome the issue themselves through strengthening exercises & stretches than offer what some other practices do which is working the area of pain once a week, every week, indefinitely which sometimes isn’t financially viable. On the rare occasion it can be a little busy and Carolyn may give you stretches to do for a few minutes while she deals with another patient monetarily but overall I’ve had a very positive experience and I’ve recommended her to several others who’ve also been very happy. I highly recommend Dr Smale.
After a fall 10 months ago with a fracture to a vertebra and only drugs suggested by GP's, Caroline Smale has worked a miracle for me. She restored me to almost my pre-injury condition after only seeing her 5 times. I couldn't be more grateful and recommend her at every opportunity. She not only treated me but reassured me that I will not be in pain forever and I will get better...and I'm almost there....95% back to normal. Thankyou,Caroline.
I saw Carolyn today after I woke up with a severe ‘wry neck’. My GP got me an appointment with her and she saw me twice in one day to help me manage the day. After the second visit I already had at least 30% better movement and the pain has been much more manageable since. I am sure Carolyn has made a significant difference to my recovery. She is also a very pleasant person with great manners. My experience with her practice was very positive.
Very disappointed with treatment. Left me for over half to Forty five minutes with heat pack for back strain. I had to get of the treatment table to get some attention which was brief 15 mins.very little manipulation of my lower back and some exercises . If hadn’t had to pay before the consultation I would have walked out.
I saw Danielle and was told confidently 2 to 3 sessions for the neck/shoulder pain to go away or ease up, ended up doing 7 sessions and the pain was still there just as bad, was giving her the benefit of the doubt as I was desperate to get some pain relief before heading o/s. On 2 occasions Danielle was busy sending emails with her phone whilst massaging me with one hand - she obviously thought i didn't notice not hard to miss the whoosh sound of an email being sent. Had to go o/s a few days after and ended up going to a chiropractor in the UK whilst on holidays, he settled my pain within 3 sessions and advised a cold pack not a heat pack and it made a difference. Very disappointed on Danielle's assessment based on probably 4 questions she had asked. I called and spoke to Dr Caroline Smale about this, she said she would investigate and call back, I waited 10 days and she never did. If your happy to have a heat pack on or a machine pulsing for most of the session with little to nil result and then a few minutes of massage then go, but be prepared to empty your wallet out!
Julie does a amazing job. 3 visits with ankle injuries and I am back running up to 20km 5 times a week. Magic!
Good physio with two white therapists. The younger the more diligent. It would be perfect if the door is closed so no have to hear someone's greeting in the hallway while me under the pulsing machine. And would be better if both hands working even tho a smartphone message arrives in the middle of massaging. Minimum physical touch while I appreciate more. Mostly machine pulsing was not that satisfactory while our paying the highest rate in town. But still seems good to others who like to talk and laugh during the therapy.
I was very happy with my treatment. I had a seized up ankle and a very sore foot following a soccer injury. The physio team got me back on the field for the finals. It was amazing.
Very professional and caring team recommend to everyone
