Food was quite nice and came all at once which the waitress asked if we wanted. The Kashmir pulao was a bit too oily so recommend getting the pilaf rice instead. The veg momos were decent and the chutney with it was very good. The avial was a bit disappointing but the veg balti was super. Good service
The best Indian food in Melbourne! Consistently delicious food. Love the malai kofta, the saag is life changing, and they have garlic+cheese naan - what a revelation. We have been eating here for years and hope to continue being patrons for many more.
Had dinner there tonight for our anniversary, beautiful, fresh flavoursome and awesome customer service. We will be back. Thanks for an amazing meal
We had Chicken Momos, entree platter, railway fish curry and Laal maas. The Entree platter was not on a sizzling plate and not hot, temperature wise and it was missing the Palak Pakoda. The Momos was ok, few were broken and could have more filling. Both the curries were good and tasty which made everything slightly better. Overall average. Prices are OK.
Have been to most of the Indian cuisine restaurants in Melbourne, find Base Camp hands down the best of the lot when it comes to taste .Have been a regular here for the last few years. They can definitely improve on the service part though but if you are looking for great taste, they won't disappoint you.
I’ve eaten a lot of sub continental food so was hoping for something special at Base Camp. There are all your favourites with generous portion sizes and great service. Between 10 of us we had a selection of traditional meals like lamb curry, vegetarian dishes, beef curry, tandoori, roti, rice, raita and more. Every meal had its own unique taste and although I’d call the flavours ‘Australianised’ it was still good. You can eat in or takeaway and the kitchen was doing a roaring trade with orders. So although not busy inside, the Uber eats were coming and going. Note: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly, kid friendly, reasonable parking out the front as well as a tram stop.
Absolutely lovely, the curries are stonkingly good. We walked out happy bunnies.
YUM!!!! We had chicken momos, cheesy garlic naan, roti, fish curry, malai tikka, onion baji & the Himalayan goat curry and oh my god, the food was absolutely phenomenal! The staff were so kind, you could see the staff interacting together, the vibe was awesome. Oh and the mango lassy was the best I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much base camp team. Keep up the incredible service. We will be back! Jess, cody & Michelle xx
