Basair Aviation College has 3 campuses, 80 aircraft, Australia’s third-largest fleet after Qantas and Virgin Australia, and 55 instructors. We are Griffith University's sole provider of flight training. Our alumni fly for over 50 airlines worldwide.

Mission

Basair Aviation College is Australia’s largest flying school. We have 80 aircraft and Australia’s third-largest fleet after Qantas and Virgin Australia. We have three campuses – in Sydney, Brisbane, and the Hunter Valley. Founded in 1991, thousands of customers have chosen us to get their wings.

Basair Aviation College focuses on students who want to achieve their commercial pilot licence, multi-engine endorsements, instrument rating, or instructor rating. With 40 entry points a year across our three campuses, we make it convenient to start your training.

All of our training – both in the air and on the ground – is of a very high quality. We have an excellent and very well-structured competency-based curriculum, which means students typically achieve their commercial pilot licence in 42 weeks. And we have above-average exam marks across Australia. Yet we continuously seek to improve all that we do so that we can better serve our students.

The college offers a variety of integrated structured course for full time students. The instructors and staff there are all enthusiastic and helpful, they also operate a large fleet of aircraft, including both high wings and low wings for students' preference, they even got twins if you would like to progress further to getting a multi-engine rating. Therefore I would say this flying school is very comprehensive, you can do many sorts of flight training with them, and they are able to offer with flexibility. While I was flying with Basair (Sydney Aviators is one of their subsidiary) as a part-time student, I was aiming to fly my solo in less than 2 weeks time. My instructors knew that and they had been very helpful throughout my training, they allocated more time slots for me and had done their best to get me up to speed to solo level asap. At the end I did my solo in just 6 days with 10 hours logged. The experience was extraordinary, I couldn't have done this without the assistance from the instructors and staff there. Hence, I highly recommend Basair as your choice of flying school to train with. Even if you just want to explore your interest in aviation, you could always do a trial instructional flight with them. It's nicely priced and you could know if you have the passion for aviation as well as joining Basair for further training or not if you do. Seems a perfect way to remove the doubts in your mind isn't it?

Excellent flight school. I did my training with Basair and I was deeply impressed by the professionalism and high quality of training. I would recommend aspiring pilots to go to one of their open days. 10/10

Great college, structured courses, awesome instructors and a really good culture. Really enjoyed my training, if you stay on top of your studies and put in the effort hard work always pays off!

Thoroughly enjoyed my training with Basair. Instructors really have your best interests and heart and will put in all the time and more to make sure you get through on time.
