We received the most professional and kind care from the midwives and doctors here. I always felt supported and safe and can’t thank the staff here enough for what they’ve done for us. Midwives are angels in scrubs!
Im so grateful for the care and attention myself and the twins received at Barwon health- I moved to geelong at 33 weeks and transferred then and there after meeting with the staff. Every single midwife nurse doctor and obstetrician made me feel so cared for and took the time to explain everything that was happening, always making sure to give me all options and empower me to make the best decisions for me and the babies.
Can't thank the beautiful midwives running the Midwifery Program enough. These legends made such a difference to my experience as a first time Mum. I feel incredibly blessed to have been looked after so well! Thank you Lynne and Emily , superstars... and all the staff working at the Maternity Unit who I met were just fantastic. I wish that every Mum could have the opportunity to be in the Midwifery program and I hope the program is given the capacity to expand further. It would only be of benefit to our region!
Had my baby 3 weeks 4 days ago. I'll give them a 3star not because they don't deserve more they do, but I had an issue with midwives who tried getting an iv in me. It was very traumatic knowing the next person will miss until a doctor took up the task and he didn't even use more than 20 seconds. It's no harm admitting to a patient that you can't seem to get it right the first time and proceed to the 5th then ask for help after poking me around. I'd attach a pic of how messy it got but...nAfter a failed induction due to baby being in distress, I still don't understand how the anaesthesia got worn out and i felt so much pain in the middle of the cs after baby was out. I hope this never happens to anyone. Now I get back pains on the upper side that lead to chest pains and shortness of breaths, feels more like panic attacks though I've never had any, not sure if it relates but the whole experience is still quite fresh and wasn't the best.nnAfter that, I got quite the best care. One midwife from the birth suite was heaven sent, she made sure to follow up even after i went to the postnatal ward. She really went out of her way. Wherever you are be blessed Olivia. Had a lovely student midwife who was really supportive in the absence snd presence of my husband.nApart from the poking in MAU and and the pain during cs, all other experiences were great.
Had the most amazing midwives and student midwife, they made my first birth such a positive experience, answered all my questions and stopped birth from being so scary. Special care nursery team is also outstanding, everyone gave my son such amazing care. These people deserve all the credit in the world!
