Amazing place for a day out. Head up the mountain in the cable car and down on an incredible railway journey. At the top enjoy views of the falls and there are lots of places to eat.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
A must to do in Cairns!!! Barron Falls Aboriginal: Din Din is a steep tiered 125 m cascade waterfall on the Barron River located 25 Km NW of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It may be viewed and reached by road via the Kennedy Highway that crosses the Barron River upstream of the falls, near Kuranda. It could also be reached via Kuranda Scenic Railway and the Skyrail. The falls were named for Thomas Henry Bowman Barron, the Chief Clerk of Police in Brisbane in the 1860s. Highly recommended.
I am fairly sure that you can only access Barron Falls via the Sky Way Cable Car which is another whole wonderful story. You can stop along the way on the Sky Way and get off a Barron Falls there is a boardwalk to a great view where I was able to take the photos of the falls. Located right in the middle of the rainforest if you are in Cairns you must do it
Nice little walk to falls and a breathtaking view. If you are going to Kuranda drive the extra bit and make the walk. The falls were not roaring when we were there but still beautiful.
Our visit coincided with our return from Kuranda via the Sky Rail. Beautiful weather and a great day to be out, but unfortunately, given we visited in dry season, the falls were not that spectacular. Easy access to the viewing platforms, but I wasn't aware of disability access... Maybe worth another visit in January / February when the rains have come...
The view of the Barron Falls and Gorge is truly breathtaking. It would have been more exciting to have seen it in its full flow but nevertheless, the beauty is not diminished.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
This falls is just a short drive from the Kuranda Rainforest Market accessible by Scenic Train , Skyway and car. We went mid January and the abundance of rainfall during that time made the water fall from great to spectacular. The waterfall was just roaring, with millions of litres of water constantly pumping. This is truly an awesome experience and really have to be there to experience it.
A nice place to visit. If you are driving, use 'Barron Falls Car Park' to bring you to the right direction. From the car park there's a wheel chair accessible path all the way to the lower lookout gravel path toward the end- about 50m. There are 2 lookout points. The first one is just 1 mim walk from the car park. The lower one is 15min walk 1 way. Both have the same view, so if you are tired/have not enough time, just go to the first one. Free parking, free entry.
The Skyrail trip to Barron falls was amazing the return train trip on the other hand was not. crammed in like sardines couldn't see anything from our seat so did not enjoy that part, my suggestion take the sky rail both ways
