The food here is generally nice and the batter on the fish is also quite nice. However one of the pieces of fish that we ordered, the one that I ate had a small cold section within it that was actually raw. My greatest concern was the sourcing of the fish, it appears that all but two options are fish that is imported from developing countries, they don't even bother to source their Barramundi from Australia. It was also disappointing to see that the snapper, my favourite option, was no longer available, perhaps Barnacle Bill's is looking for an option to also source this from a developing country as we'll, who knows? They could make a little bit more of an effort with their chips as they are pretty ordinary.
Love the fish and chips. Staff very friendly and service quick. Probably not the place to go for a romantic dinner but quick dinner with the kids, its great.Food: 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious Spoiler for Two meal tonight. Every morsel was beautifully cooked and we reckon it was the best meal ever!
We have been going once a week for a few years, always been happy but the last three times things have changed, has it changed hands? The fish is oily and greasy, never was before, we both feel quite sick , the chips quantity has reduced by half, we are very disappointed, won’t be coming back
Haven't had a bad meal from this place, go regularly, and staff are great. Place is clean. Always give it the five 5 stars.
This store make no sense, they are the only barnacle bills that won't let you exchange/swap items from their packs, i wanted to swap a fish$4.60 for a chickette $2.50 and they won't allow.... no sense financially advantages them not the customer and then this disadvantages them by frustrating people like myself. That will just go to another barnacle bills that are more than happy to do such a simple exchange. So never Hallett Cove again
Some of the best fish and chips around, despite being a chain. The tartare sauce is their own recipe and is really good.Food: 4/5
I have never had chips that bad and the prices have gone way up as well.
Staff are always lovely here. Food is always fresh and prepared with care. Parking: Located at a shopping centre there is plenty of parking at the door.
Staff always lovely and happy to help. Nice clean restaurant.
