Bargain Hunt is a fantastic place to sell antique items & to discover the potential value of items you're not sure about. Almost 9 years ago Bargain Hunt sold a lot of antique & valuable items for us & proved to be incredibly helpful & trustworthy. When we needed to sell more items recently we didn't hesitate to contact them. They are easy to communicate with & very straight forward about their procedures & fee structures. An excellent business that I would highly recommend.

A great auction house with informed staff . They get good results if you are selling. And if you are a buyer you can bid for amazing things from paintings, retro furniture , music instruments , antiques, stamps and coins plus a myriad of other collectibles. Do yourself a favour and attend the weekend auctions . You will not regret it.

I was a regular purchaser but following a recent experience I have not purchased at Bargain Hunt for a few months. I now mainly purchase through another north shore auction house because of a recent incident. Notwithstanding this, I hope to return as a customer soon. In respect of the recent incident, I experienced a situation where part of the lot I thought I had purchased was removed when I collected the item. They stated that this was not part of the description. This was despite the description being vague and the removed items not being listed or photographed elsewhere in the auction. Further, the removed items were present in the lot during the inspection, auction and collection processes. I then sent an email seeking clarification on the terms and conditions. Disappointingly, I received no reply. I understand that the auction house is employing a general manager so I am hoping customer service levels will soon improve. Despite this hiccup the auction house does sell a variety of goods at reasonable prices and is recommended.

Absentee buyers beware. Bargain Hunt do not consider items broken after a lot has been photographed and before bidding to be their responsibility or loss. Having tried for a month to resolve an issue with Management I will simply leave my review for other potential bidders to be aware that they rely on their terms and conditions rather then consider what is “reasonable”. Is it reasonable for a bidder to pay for a lot of 9 items and receive 7 ? Is it reasonable to send the goods and not advise the bidder that two items were broken before the auction ? Is it reasonable that the disappointed bidder has to be the person to constantly initiate communication in an effort to resolve ? Of course the two missing (broken items) were the most valued by myself and my bid was based on these items being as photographed. To add a further loss to this story another item in this lot was severely damaged with a jagged crack completely through the jug. The damage was fresh and a crisp white through the porcelain, rendering this jug a total loss. I have dealt with many auction houses and have never encountered such poor customer service. This experience has led me to cease buying from Bargain Hunt. If solution focused communication had occurred and a reasonable outcome provided I would not be writing this review.
