Place is great. Lovely decor and vibes. Service was very attentive and friendly. Food was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed every course. Thank you for squeezing us before the private function. I overheard that it was a wedding party of the head chef, if I'm not wrong? Wishing him all the best! Looking forward to come back and try ramen before 3pm.

The best food I have ever eaten!nnBar Wa Izakaya can be a little hard to get into but it is well worth the advanced booking and persistence. We actually had the early dinner at 4pm-6pm and it was perfect.nnThe food is absolutely wonderful. We cooked, prepared and presented and the taste divine. The drink are plentiful and exotic.nnThe atmosphere is amazing. By 5pm the place is absolutely crawling with diners and everybody is cheerful.nnIt truly was a wonderful experience that I will gladly do again & again on our next visits.

But it's the food that truly sets this place apart.nnWe were particularly impressed by the wallaby shanks, which were incredibly tender and flavorful. It was a truly memorable dish. The rest of the menu was equally impressive, with a great selection of oysters, a mini meat platter, and a variety of drinks, including whiskey shots, sake, and beer.nnA Tip for Visitors: Be sure to make a reservation well in advance, especially if you're planning to visit during peak dining hours. Hobart's locals seem to have a knack for starting their evenings early, so don't be caught off guard!
Food was fantastic. Wallaby was great.nI did not see any Japanese staff members at the venue however the taste was surprisingly quite authentic. Great effort! Amazing!nThe time we visited, they were too busy to serve foods and drinks quickly.
