We love seeing the latest movies in the intimate theatres at Palace Balwyn Cinemas. The leather seats are large and comfortable, with rotating trays for your drinks & food. The smaller theatres are intimate and envelope you in the movie experience. Palace has the best prices if you are a senior or join their movie club. Threat yourself to a movie soon.
Really nice palatial art deco cinema in Balwyn. Some of the theatres are very small and intimate, so be mindful of this as the front seats are very close to the screen.
Classic old fashioned cinema. Each room brings you the authentic old style from a classic theatre. Interior has been kept well maintained with the old style interior design. Makes me feel like I'm going back in time. Theatres are very relaxing and comfortable. Become a club member and you get many benefits such as cheap tickets or buy one get one free. Old fashioned candy bar full of popcorn, chocolates and ice cream. Staff are all friendly and will help you decide what movie to watch if you are unsure. While waiting for your movie to start, why not begin the night or day with a glass of wine or simply go and have something to eat or have a coffee at the local coffee shops nearby. As darkness falls, the lighting outside brings out the beautyb9f this classic cinema.
A real cinema, with a good ambiance, a tea room and bars. Human sized, good program and friendly staff make a difference to me. From independent films to blockbusters, you can enjoy your film in a nice place which doesn't look like these supermarket-like, mass-targeted places that I'm not fan of. I definitely recommend for spending a good time.
Wonderful historic movie theatre , warm and welcoming , intimate small theatre spaces with many Art Deco features . Love the cafe and the coffee .
I have had a number of sub par experiences here Most recently the projector in cinema 4 was garbage. The image was dark and it was hard to make out anything in the darker scenes, and halfway through the movie, the image became blue and smeary and ruined the experience Other cinemas sound systems are too quiet to hear Only the biggest screen meets any expectations The olive oil popcorn is yummy though
This is a really lovely cinema. It is beautifully restored and so much attention has been paid to make it accessible for the disabled. The staff are all pleasant and helpful and the wine bar/cafe is most enjoyable
Although it's boutique, there are always a variety of films available that you can't find in the large mainstream cinemas. The choc tops are large compared to the choc tops in other cinemas and yummy. Staff members are friendly.
Going here mainly for film festivals or special screening. I like the atmosphere and choices from the bar/ Cafe. The cinemas are cosy and comfortable. If anything, there could be a more comfortable sitting space.
My supervisor bought tickets online for 8 patrons to see The Book Club-The Next Chapter. I was running late for the program. I approached a service person as to which cinema it was showing and he said it started at 11am. I asked again which cinema? His reply was "have you a ticket"? I said "yes". My supervisor has the ticket. Again, which cinema? He said cinema 3. I asked if it was upstairs or down. I got the sideways nod. Really. The service attendant could have said it was in cinema 3 and where it was. I went to my supervisor and asked for the tickets. I then returned to ask for the manager. Speaking with her, she said I was rude to complain about the attendant. So much for customer service. Most disappointing.
