It has always been a dream to fly on a hot air balloon and for my birthday the dream came true. It was an amazing experience to fly with Chris, who not only has a gorgeous balloon but also knows how to masterfully ride the wind, creating the smoothest glide over the gorgeous city of Melbourne. My favorite part was flying low to the ground, seeing the sun rise and the whole city awakening, and waving at people who always wave back excitedly. A really fun (and safe) experience that is totally worth indulging in. Chris, you're awesome!

flight was absolutely amazing, defiantly worth it. but the customer service received was very poor, our pilot 'Chris' was an absolute knob head and couldn't of possibly been more arrogant. when we landed we were forced to help pack up whilst seeing the other balloon company land near us and they didn't have to clean up at all it was all done for them. if your looking for a knob to fly with 'Chris' is your guy!!! would recommend to do but with a different company

This was a great and unique experience. I strongly recommend booking with BalloonMan. As such, I regret stalling to book due to the price and limited flexibility in our schedule, should the weather not cooperate. The Melbourne balloon flight is unique as I don't think there's another city where you can fly a hot air balloon near a city. The views of the downtown skyline, into people's morning commute and landscape shots during a sunrise are amazing and worth the price alone. Chris, the owner and operator, makes the experience truly unique with his enthusiasm and knowledge of ballooning and running a small business. The breakfast is also a real nice touch to share your thoughts with others and to enjoy a great hotel buffet breakfast. Tip - the scheduling person (Jenny) can be a bit challenging and inflexible to coordinate with. Given her tone, my friend and I felt that if you didn't follow the instructions perfectly that you'd nullify your contract with them and therefore lose your right to a refund. For example, per our booking terms we were suppose to call her the day before our trip during a 3 hour window. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed so we missed that calling window. Another example, they need two numbers to call you at (e.g. your hotel phone along with a personal cell). This is in order to call you to provide logistics, confirm a day in advance and for a wake-up call. If you don't have a cell that works in Australia, there is no alternative as they won't accept Skype and I don't think they use Google Hangouts. I ended up just calling Chris explaining the situation and he sorted everything out very quickly. I understand the policy (so guests aren't left waiting for someone that overslept), but a bit of flexibility on her end to accommodate a foreigner that has just as variable of a schedule as hers and limited phone access would be greatly appreciated. So if you hit a wall with her, try asking for someone else. Again, despite the scheduling challenges, I strongly recommend this company, owner / operator and experience.

I planned this for a Saturday morning, but was given early notice that given the weather forecast it would be unfavourable flying conditions. We were given the option to fly on a Friday morning instead. Given Melbourne's unpredictable weather, we jumped on the chance to change, and were glad we did because the conditions were perfect! We enjoyed spectacular views whilst watching the amazing sunrise. Views of the city, bay and surroundings. The booking experience and day was seamless, well planned and all information we needed was given. Jenny was very friendly over the phone to answer any questions I had. Photos and videos were included FREE too! Chris was great, giving us clear instructions and we felt comfortable under his experienced flying. What an experience! We'd love to do it again! So overall an experience I would highly recommend with good value for money too.
