Small museum with lots of interesting airforce history including aircraft engineering history.
Some old uniforms, pictures, airplane parts, and more. Not much to see to be honest. Probably the best part of it is if they'll allow you to check the actual airplanes at the hangar They're not part of the museum but the guy who runs the place allowed us to check the planes, with his supervision of course as they're privately owned. My kid enjoyed it as she's able to see actual real planes up close. Fairly priced.
Fantastic local museum, some great artefacts!
Small but well stocked museum with a nice gentlemen looking after it.
Lots of aviation systems to see along with local history and stories of the people who made them. Complete and cut-away engines are fantastic for the technically minded. Much more to seeVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Karl is an amazingly talented and knowledgeable guide. For a small regional Aviation museum this one has an excellent range of display items, including 19 engines. One item, in particular, which took my eye was a working model of a wing fatigue testing rig. Recognising the need to give hands-on experience for the kids large and small, Karl is working on modifying a Flight Simulator to work in the Museum's non-flying Cessna Skymaster Push/Pull aircraft. As in most similar organisations, volunteers are in short supply.
It may not be big, but this aviation museum is packed with heaps of interesting static displays, engines and model aircraft. A great way to spend an hour or two.
Good if you are interested in aviation. Displays need some work, not up to museum standard. A bit expensive for what's on offer. Does have a model of the "Spruce Goose" and a replica of the "Demoiselle" especially made for the film "Those Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines" on display. Try to get the attendant to show you around the hanger, it really adds to your visit.
Great little museum. Lots of engines and a few interesting planes including a flying flea in great nick. Great service from the local guide.
If you’re into planes this is well worth a visit.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
