This pub offers everything a pub should. It's tucked away in a back street. It's small and cosy, with a wholesome indoor section, outdoor seating on the footpath, an open terrace and a covered terrace. They serve great beers and Guinness on tap, and a tasty Sunday roast. It's definitely the best pub in the area.

Great vibe, lovely historical pub with nice alfresco and indoor dining spaces. Great service too.

"Proper Fish and chips" The "fish" is unidentified.. but was basically a thin, grey species with wafer thin batter. The chips were crunchy french fries and the only connection to being "proper" was a thimble of malt vinegar in a vague nod to British fish n chips Not great... Over priced and poor quality. It looked like all ingredient were frozen and bought from Coles...I think they could try a lot harder. The beer was good and they had sport on screen.. they get a star .

Bald Rock is a lovely old school pub with a nice atmosphere but besides the friendly staff and speedy delivery, the food is phenomenal. Really nice veg options. I will definitely return and highly recommend for a quiet, relaxed place to eat out.

Nice and unique little pub. Lots of different options to drink or eat - inside, outside, courtyard. Food was pretty good however $40 for a tiny steak which want cooked that well was a bit much. But all the other dishes I saw looked good such as the fish and parmigiana and will try something else next time l.

This place is an institution. A hidden gem.  Were it located elsewhere it would be jam packed and probably spoilt. It's always busy but rarely jammed.  Great pint, very friendly staff and great well priced pub meals.  The owner deserves all the spoils as he clearly puts in a lot of work to look after his staff and customers.  Best pint of Guinness in Balmain bar none.  Mussels on Good Friday were sensational.

Sit in the beer garden and enjoy some laughs with your best friends over a couple pints of Guinness.  When the live band comes on, get ready for your perfect day to transform into the perfect night.  Don’t forget to rinse your footy winnings on a couple of jugs of pimms for the lads.  The best pub in Sydney man. 5 stars

Great, old little pub. Lord Nelsonesque without the crowds and the noise. Friendly, happy, helpful staff except for the Trivia host who is a bit of a knob. Good house Shiraz.

Lovely old fashioned pub. Just like the old days great location. We had a very nice meal. Good outdoor area.

What a lovely pub! The decor is wonderfully cute and cosy. The rough stone walls really give the place a great feel and I love the many random entrances to the pub. Every room is different and unique in its own way. Great for group events or date nights! Highly recommend a visit to this pub
