Balangara is everything I could have wanted. This absolutely gorgeous retro-style b&b is matched only by its surroundings. It is located on a beautiful plot with 100-year-old trees, several hidden ferny walkways and benches and half a dozen spectacular views. Inside, the theme is recreated without fault while remaining both classy and comfortable. You don't even need to leave the property to wash your city stresses away in style! Having said that, the plot is only a short stroll from town, where a number of boutique stores beckon for your perusal. Down the street is the famous Miss Marple's Tearoom. I will definitely be taking my girlfriend back there soon.

What a wonderful and fun experience! Set amongst stately, sweeping gardens, this B&B was so comfortable and cosy. The decor has been meticulously crafted using retro memorabilia - so much reminded me of my childhood, it was fascinating. Our hosts, Sue and Frank were friendly and helpful - but unobtrusive. We were in cooee of the wonderful Olinda shopping centre, the Rhododendron Gardens and Cloud Hill Nursery. Had a romantic meal at the Wild Oak restaurant and a delicious self serve breakfast the next day. We were so impressed I'm going back to pick up a birthday voucher for my brother and his wife -they will be thrilled.
