Fantastic place indoor and outdoor seating space. I tried only Coffee and it was one of the best coffee experiences. The staff is so friendly. There are heaps of other bakery items. Highly recommended place to hang out with friends and families.
After the hype and recommendations online this was a must try on the list while in Adelaide.nFirstly, being open 24/7, that’s pretty cool for a bakery. Secondly, when you walk in you get cool bakery vibes - and you want to get something from there.nWe didn’t get their famous pie in soup but instead did get spinach cheese and tomato square which was great. Nice and hot and crispy pastry. We also got the viral San Sebastián cheesecake which was a bit of a disappointment because they’d put the chocolate on top when serving and it froze on the cake. While the cake was nice it wasn’t exceptional. Finally I ordered a mini caramel eclair, fresh cream, lovely caramel, terrible Choux pastry - it was hard. I love a good eclair! And this one was far from it- the eclair at a local bakery on the way to cape Jervis was excellent.nI’d come here again to try their other stuff which, the place is buzzing so clearly they’re doing something right for a bakery, but I wouldn’t order stuff that’s not their core!
Tried their cheese kransky and chunky steak, bacon and cheese pie.nnCheese krasnky was good- decent little dish. Definitely a must try for anyone visiting this bakery.nnThe pie was not bad, however I did not notice the bacon or cheese in the pie. I enjoyed the tender chunky steak pieces.nnPaid $12 for the above, worth it.nn7/10
Probably one of the best thick shakes you can get for sure. A pleasant surprise after my last 3 THICK shakes from various places have been 90% milk which is a MILKSHAKE. I’m glad Bakery on O’Connell have got it right along with all their absolutely delicious food.
I’ve visited multiple times over the past 10 years or so, and every time I return, I’m reminded of how over rated it is. Hard to find a car park anywhere nearby. And inside the bakery is way too crowded due to the poor lay out of the store. Can’t see everything on offer as there are always people standing in front of the display. Feel like I have to reach over other people to get served and make payment. Never enough spare seats so I often just get items to take away. On the rare occasion I’ve been able to find a seat, the background noise has been unbearable, making it not worth staying anyway. I purchased a Biscoff scroll on 17/9, the outside was stale and dry. Inside was nice but I only got to that after peeling layers of the outside off, wasted a lot of it.nSorry guys, it’s getting to the point where I won’t be returning as the hassle of just getting through the doors really isn’t worth the mediocre food.
