Definitely will not be back! Ordered the Cape peper and mushroom pie and got plain mushroom, easy mistake. However ordered a combos with and iced chocolate. I waited around 10 minutes before they called out an iced coffee, not my drink. While waiting I ate the two cold cardboard like hashbrowns. Finally someone asks what I'm waiting on and when I say iced chocolate they said it wasn't on their screens. The pie tasted like dog food and the drink when I finally got it was leaking and not mixed at all. Terrible experience
When I first came here they were fantastic. Amazing pies and sandwiches, great coffee and super friendly staff. But lately as for the coffee, I've been really disappointed with the quality. There has definitely been a change in the coffee recently. Today though was the worst. Waited over 10 minutes in line for a Latte, when I finally got my coffee it was a watery flat white. The thing that is really unfortunate is that they increased their coffee price a few months ago, now I feel like I'm just paying more for less. Really hope they improve soon, everything else about the place is great.
Pleasant surprise! Definitely recommend to visit on your way in to town or out south.nnStaff were exceptionally friendly and hardworking. I ordered a soy cap and for once, it wasn't piping hot unlike other places in Cairns. I also found the shot of caffeine to be quite potent and strong.nnOverall a nice warm ambience to sit back, sip your coffee and people watch.nnExtra notes: drive-thru service, combo deals, free wifi, full bakery offering.
Went on the weekend and there were a couple of things. Told the girl there was a fly crawling over the Vegemite scrolls - I know we are in FNQ but she did not even acknowledge it - could have humoured me and try to get it out but just looked at me. A customer brought back a pie while I was waiting for my coffee - it had no filling just a outer crust and air hah but probably the most concerning thing is my son sat on the toilet for a couple of hrs after eating hu’s part pie and sausage roll. Was Luke warm when we bought them not hot. Also don’t wash their tongs got a danish but it had all chocolate on it and smeared in the bag. Looked unappealing and did not belong with the itemnStaff seem to have a care factor which is a shame could be good.
Early morning cravings brought us to this place today. We were very pleased with the result! We have a semi-big family so we purchased 2x Family Boxes which consists of 4x pies & 5x small savouries. nnThe prices were very reasonable, the pies were fresh & delicious! Only one thing was to perhaps add vegie salt/seasonong to the cauliflower/cheese & tuna mornay pies other than that, my & family & I were pleasantly satisfied!nnWe also had a caramel & snickers slice which was delightful! Thanks a bunch to the all the team at Banjos Bakery!
