New drive in just opened with city skyline and the wheel as drop backs. Practical setup and has great potential!! Wished only if screen was a bit bigger. But all in all a great experience. I would definitely return. @backlotrooftop
Went the other day with the family plus dog to see Blade Runner on a Tuesday night which we got discounted tickets at $20. Glad to see Docklands make use of the unused parking lot. Everyone else seemed to have a good time too. There were at least 20 other cars there but was no problem getting in and out and didn't affect our view of the screen. I suggest you get there at least 15 minutes early for a prime spot!
Went to watch Minions on a Friday night. Only five cars in attendance. Very underrated place and I hope it picks up enough to stay in business a long time. A few more cars arrived for the later session. Staff were friendly, helpful and can be given top ratings. Food shop selling hotdogs, popcorns, drinks, ice creams available at reasonable prices. The sound quality was average, and a couple of times a bit of static came on, but overall indeed watchable. One advice I would give them is to smarten up the website with times, ie: web site had our moving starting at 745pm, and when I purchased tickets it said 6.30pm on the ticket, so arriving early around 6pm, the place was just opening. And then the actual movie started just after 7pm.... The outdoor seating options was not available but understand they will be coming back soon and I look forward to warmer weather and taking the opportunity to come back again & again. My kids had never been to a drive in and loved it. Great concept, good views, certainly worth a visit and I look forward to coming back.
I have been dealing with Simone regards to my booking and I can already tell the staff is ultra friendly as well as professional. The communication is precise, correct and just gives you a feeling that you are dealing with just the right set of people. I am so totally looking forward to our very first experience at the Rooftop Drive-In.
TL;DR... Cool concept, but not worth it... Not the best Drive in cinema, the layout isn't the best and it seems like the whole concept is hype. In a drive in cinema there needs to be mounds so you car can point upwards to see the screen well. At this place it isn't the case so you have to squirm down in your seat to see the screen. Also the photos when advertising the screens and the layout don't match.
Great experience! Good service, good movie food and great views. Just get a ticket when you drive through the payment gate and they'll let you out at the end of the movie. Toilets on the same level. Be there at least half an hour before the movie starts.
Wet cold night great space lovely girls and guys running the night views over melbourne pretty special even in the rain! All in all a really good night with a classic film to boot - go on go you wont regret it
Quite nice and surprisingly cheap used to expensive cinemas. Bit of a wait getting in since we had to wait for another movie to clear out so it started quite late but they're probably still working on timing considering it's new. Limited range of movies however.
Pathetic! No organisation, took us almost an hour to get upto to the rooftop due to management not organising car spaces sold more tickets than there are carspaces. Watching the movie right now Passengers and the audio is absolutely pathetic! Lots of static.
We were looking forward to going here and weren't dissapointed. Super friendly staff, awesome view and pet friendly. Can't wait to go back. Great addition to the Docklands area.
