Delicious food. We tried Nasi Goreng, fried chicken, barbecue chicken, fried chicken liver and coconut rice. Everything was delicious, just that the coconut rice was bit dry. But it was nothing compared all the flavourful dishes. And their homemade chilli sambal was great!! We ended up buying a bottle to take home. Highly recommend this place.
Good things: - food was so yummy! - very delicious and good portion size for price you pay! - staff are very nice ! Bad things: - sort out the ventilation - it can get very smoky when the kitchen is working hard.
The best barbecue chicken around! We love the Paha Bakar charcoal grilled marinated chicken thigh which is $7.50 a piece. Ayam Goreng 99 is open for take away from 12-8pm Wednesday to Sunday. Staff are friendly and the food is usually ready within 10 minutes.
Simple yet satisfying! The deep fried marinated chicken Paha goreng is so good and you cannot get away with not getting the coconut rice! The Javanese style chicken has a hint of sweetness and was very good too. I also ordered sayur asem, which is the sweet, sour and slightly spicy vegetable soup contains peanuts. It is a good balance with the meat. This is a very long standing Indonesian restaurant in Kingsford which often becomes very busy. Make sure you go there earlier as it doesn’t take bookings. It does have partnership with delivery services but I recommend trying this in person, especially for that crispy fried chicken!
Had the fried chicken, nasi goreng and char kwe tiaw. Flavour of the nasi goreng was great but texture of the rice was a bit overcooked IMO. The char kwe tiaw noodles had great texture and taste. and so did the chicken. Service was decent enough considering how busy this place always is. They used to be more generous with sambal. Now they give 1 teaspoon at a time
Massive flavours! we loved every dish. My only problem on the day we visited, heavy smoke from all the grilling in the room, not pleasant at all, especially on hot humid sydney day. Ask the staff to switch on the air-conditioning, why didn't they switch it on from the start of the day?
Best charcoal grilled chicken thigh in Sydney! They gave us an extra thigh because they said the thigh was smaller than usual. Very generous. Long queue during dinner time but worth the wait.Recommended dishesGrilled Marinated Chicken
Great place to eat indonesian food. I tried the stir fried egg noodles which was tasty and it reminded me of Vietnamese stir fried phở. Big portion too, highly recommend.
This place is always busy, and there is always a line. I believe some lines up before it even opens. You do have to put your name down on the waitlist and write your own order down. The food here is okay, but certainly not worth the wait. Most dishes taste quite heavy/salty, 3 out 6 dishes: bihun goren, baso soup and the rice noodle were so heavily seasoned with white pepper powder that I can barely taste their own flavour. Also, I would recommend not to take any interest in the deep fired liver/giblet/soybean. They are just dry and sad... not even salvageable by their delicious homemade chilli sauce
Quick service. Good food. Lamb skewer was nice. Fried chicken breast a bit dry. Grilled chicken very nice. Drinks very good!!Food: 5/5
