Buyer Beware - Budget will find any excuse to get out of paying a claim
While they have cheap policy's when you have an event they don't pay out.

We suffered storm damage in our house and they claimed faulty workmanship and poor maintenance as their way not to pay.We had 800mm of rain in Cyclone Debbie fall in 8 hrs. Seriously that was an extreme weather event, everyone had damage in Northern NSW.

You pay for what you get.

DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM, THEY WILL NOT PAY OUT

The worst service compared to others. It has taken over a week and no feedback from the insurance company. I'm still stuck with a smashed car although I have car hire. The car is undriveable yet they won't tow it. I strongly advise people to look elsewhere when ensuring even if others are more expensive. I am suffering from a back ache, had a miscarriage all because of this accident and this insurance company has still not attended to my car. You be the judge of the service they provide.

Budget Direct car insurance is a "Rip-off".

They are happy to take your money, but when it comes to a "writ-off" they will risk your life and the other motorists' life in attempting to repair non-reparable car with damaged chassis and leave you without car for an extended period of time of more than four (4) months. Our accident happened on the 7th September and as of right now we neither have a replacement car nor a solution to our "Comprehensive" insurance dispute.

Budget Direct, which is part of Auto & General Insurance Company Limited, is involved in misleading and deceptive conduct contrary to S18 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

People should be aware that these companies are involved in a scam and should not use their insurance policies for any of their insurance need.
