I had a pre-enrolment meeting this week to check out possible options for my son. I have felt physically sick since visiting a couple days ago and felt the need to write a review.nnThis is the worst daycare/kindy setting I have ever been too. As soon as I stepped into their office area - I smelt urine. A really cold welcoming. Dirty offices. No air ventilation. Everything was just so dirty. The place itself is very old and outdated but you would think the place would be at least clean. I went through to check out the possible classroom my son would be in and I felt like throwing up. Dirty walls, windows, projector was broken and not working. It still had kids finger prints all over screen. It looked like a classroom from an old abandoned school from the 80’s. I couldn’t actually believe anyone would send there kids here. I was honestly so shocked. Steppped out into the playground and it got worse. Major accessibility issues for kids who aren’t walking yet/might be in wheelchairs.nnMy main takeaway was considering this kindy setting would take $1000 for 2 days of kindy per week - 100% absolute scam. Why does the association that is suppose to love and support our kids run centres like these!??? Nothing in this place was thought out. NO LOVE AND CARE INTO ANYTHING. If the setting presents itself this way - it most likely means the people who work here don’t give a damn either.nnI could write a whole god damn report on how they can improve this centre for the most vulnerable kids in our community. Clean up the place, put people in your centres that care. You’re suppose to be this big overarching body for autism but you’ve given the worst possible impression for Autism QLD. Next time, don’t just stare at my son when he’s having a hard time because your enrolment meeting is in an enclosed small space that stinks of urine with soft toys that are so dirty. You don’t understand autism very well if you have a lady like that running enrolments.
I appreciate and support the work this organization does for the community but it was very unprofessional for the HR Officer, Jonathan to leave a negative review on our small business website without a meaningful engagement. When confronted on email, he simply decided to ignore like nothing ever happened.
Very hard for adult ASD people to get help from services so it was really upsetting how hard it was to obtain a service from a org that uses the word Autism in it's name, I would expect a org that uses and promotes itself as a autistic service to avoid making things difficult for ASD adults to use and obtain a service. trying to get help through Autism QLD really has been no different then any allied health service in qld that says it can assist ASD adults, alot of time wasted waiting on responses and then having to deal with diff people and then not understanding what I was after . I would warn any ASD adults this could trigger or cause you distress when trying to communicate directly , so if you need to use them, have a support person do all the dealings
